I'm looking for a feat that allows the user to use a touch attack spell with a weapon. What I mean is that I want to cast shocking grasp and have it channel through my spear. Is there a feat like this?

There is the spell-storing weapon ability, which allows you to store a targeted spell of 3rd level or lower in the weapon to be discharged on a successful hit.

There is the Spellsword prestige class in Complete Warrior, which grants the ability to store any spell in a weapon to be discharged on a successful hit, usable a limited number of times per day.

There is the Daggerspell Mage prestige class in Complete Adventurer, which allows you to store the charges of touch spells in daggers that you wield.

I don't know of any feats that reproduce this ability, however.

I think I remember seeing one in PHB2, but I could be wrong. It's been known to happen from time to time...

It's the duskblade class, and you're right, it does exactly what the OP is looking to do.

Which is one of the most useless feats in the game and does absolutely nothing to help the OP with what he says he's looking for.

The ability is basically a prestige class ability, several of them have it.

As such, it is at heart too powerfull for a feat.

You might be able to find a feat that has severe restrictions, but that's about it (such as 1/day, only for spells of x school)

Smiting Spell, PHBII. An Orc Cleric once dished out some nasty damage with a Smiting Inflict Light Wounds against a 1st level party.

Can this feat be used by a Warmage?

Dang, I apologize. I saw the "Smiting Spell" and assumed the last part meant it was one. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

Edit: Can it be used by a warmage though?

It's a metamagic feat with a +1 level cost. Not a terrible spell if your Wmg likes to enter melee combat. It's less useful for a ranged attack, as the spell dissipates if you miss.

Alright. As soon as I can find a PHB2 or a SRD, I'll look up this feat.

It's not in the SRD.

Unfortunately, the description of the feat completely fails to mention whether it takes a standard action to cast the spell into the weapon, or whether you can just channel it in per hit with no additional, or what. I'd assume it takes a standard action to channel, but I marvel at the lack of clarity.

Check it, though: Something like a dark Favored Soul with a whip, a taskmaster of the undead, handing out a bunch of Inflict Wounds, healing his or her own or smacking the party, depending on what is called for - nasty.

Dammit liquid... he was only three days away from his one-month retirement.

Question mark?

Ha ha, oddly enough I just got done replying to you in another thread.

Effectively, at the time of your comment, this thread was only 3 days away from not being replied to for a month.

(Although I'll grant you that you brought up a valid concern about such a change, I just think the OP no longer has a need for help. However, I might be wrong in this and there's always the good chance someone else will come along this thread and look for help.)
