Hulking Brute I think? From... Dragonlance and Races of Destiny?

It is not a feat its a rule variant. In Masters of the Wild, page 18, Sidebar "Variant Intimidation Rules". It allows the use of Strength for intimidation if you show your strenght(like breaking somthing).

Well there IS a feat to do this. I'm fairly certain it's Hulking Brute but I'm at work and can't check my books.

Hulking Brute I think? From... Dragonlance and Races of Destiny?I don't believe Hulking Brute from Dragonlance (it's not in RoD) is the feat I am looking for. I have never read 3.5 Dragonlance. The feat index's description of Hulking Brute says "You possess a truly impressive stature", what exactly does it do ??

The feat I am looking for I believe had a prereq of Cha 13 ??

If memory serves, it doea exactly what you're describing: lets you use Str instead of Cha on intimidate checks (because of your impressive stature)

I was sure there was a version of it or something similar in Races of Destiny though. For Half Orcs... odd.

well, there's a feat in RoD that gives +4 to intimidate if you're orc or half-orc. but i haven't been able to find one for strength.

I've never seen such a feat, but if it does exist I'd recommend taking the toughness feat instead.

Alright it's not Hulking Brute. I've scoured all my books but I cannot find this feat. I am still convinced it exists and I REMEMBER posting in an entire arguement about the Intimidate skill and whether it should be based on strength and I remmeber people pointing out this feat numerous times so I WILL find it...

Alright apparently I'm on crack and no such feat actually exists.

Dread Tyranny, from RoDestiny, will allow you to apply BOTH your Strength and Charisma mods to Intimidate, but you need to be a 3rd level cleric of Hextor.

Other than that it's all variant rules.

It doesn't seem worth a feat to me. I'd just ask my DM if I could use one instead of the other, possibly in a permenant exchange, just to be fair. If the DM says no and intimidate's that important to you, you could try Skill Focus: Intimidate.

What does Hulking Brute actually do then ??

Dread Tyranny seems to be the feat I was thinking about, however I forgot the prereq of being a Cleric of Hextor.

Doesn't necessarily make sense though.
Through the use of magic, it is not impossible to have a character with 30str, but looking like one of those stick-thin, aneroxic models. I don't see how they would be any more intimidating than a fairly muscular bouncer with just 16str...:P

I prefer to simply put ranks into intimidate, the modifier is really meaningless once you have more than 6 ranks in it anyways. And if you are playing a fighter type you really don't need to have ranks in anything but intimidate, climb, swim, jump and maybe ride if you want. They don't even have to be max ranks for you to be good at them.
I've rarely been intimidated by a person simply because they look like they COULD hurt me, but someone able to actually give me cause to think they will hurt me would. Also if your intimidate check fails try using your sword.

Hulking Brute is entirely unrelated and involves size modifers to bull rushes and grapples. I don't know what I was thinking.
