| MogliGrimTooth09-22-07, 07:34 PM | Hi im looking for the name and book a feat is from. its a feat that allows you to improve the damage out put of power attack. so instead of 1:1 i believes its like 1:2 or somthing like that. Also there is a feat that allows you to make a turn while charging... Edit: Found this one. Am starting a game within the hour so thought id post for help. Edit: Also the run feat, allows you to run x4 normal movement, but does it affect charging at all? or is it still x2 movement? Thanks MGT. |
| IdleAltruism09-22-07, 08:31 PM | Complete adventurer leap attack. Basically you jump on them to get extra damage from power attack. If the run feat doesn't specifically alter your base speed it won't help your charge speed. |
| ShadowF09-24-07, 03:21 AM | Fleet of Foot CW 99 allows you to make up to a 90 degree turn during a charge. |

There are two that I know of to increase the Power Attack return: One is Leap Attack, as IdleAltruism mentioned, from Complete Adventurer. It gives you a 1.5:1 ratio for a one-hander, or a 3:1 for a two-hander* if you jump while charging. The other is Combat Brute from Complete Warrior. It has three maneuvers in it, one called Momentum Swing. It gives you a 1.5:1 ratio for a one-hander, or a 3:1 for a two-hander if you Power Attack the round after charging. It also has a maneuver for getting an extra attack after s successful sunder, and one for getting better results after a bull rush. The two of these work fairly well together, in that you can Leap Attack the first round while charging, and then use Momentum Swing from Combat Brute to do a better power attack the next round as well. *Note, there are some disagreements about how Leap Attack works, due to the "+100% normal Power Attack damage" wording. I posted my interpretation of how it works. You may get some other answers from other people. |

IIRC, Improved Power Attack (or whatever the name is) gives you an equivalent return on Power Attack. It's a mid-level ability in Frenzied Berzerker. Supreme Power Attack (the 10th level ability) gives you an even better return. I think you'll end up with a 4:1 for Power Attack with a two-hander. Of course, if you combine that with Leap Attack or Combat Brute, then you're up to 5:1. Not too bad. I know there other ways to boost it further, but I can't remember. Of course, you can always bring this question to the Character Optimzation Boards (http://forums.gleemax.com/forumdisplay.php?f=339) if you really want to boost your Power Attack. I think I've heard people boast 8:1 ratios or better. |
