| NerdNumber105-14-07, 10:05 AM | Lycan Wings You have developed your lycantropic wings to such an extent that you can use them in hybrid form. Prerequisites: Lycanthrope with a base animal with wings and a fly speed. Benefit: In hybrid form you get a +10 racial bonus to jump checks and can fly at half your animal form speed (max 30ft) with the manuverability of your base animal (maximum average manuverability). If you fall in hybrid form (Such as if you become unconscious) your wings unfurl and you fall in a tight corkscrew, taking a maximum of d6 points of damage. You cannot fly with a medium or heavier load or in medium or heavier armor or while fatigued. After 3+your con modifier rounds you are fatigued and must glide down (lose 5ft in height per 30ft traveled no ascention). Special: A shifter lycanthrope can count this as a shifter feat for purposes of determining shifting duration and times per day, but not for prerequisites for feats or prestige classes. So, any thoughts? Did I miss anything? And before anyone flames me for a flight-gain feat, bear in mind that this feat can only be taken by those already with a fly speed. |
| CantripN05-14-07, 10:19 AM | What's the point? Just turn to an Animal to fly... We're it a Good/Perfect Maneuverability, I'd see why, but it's only Average. I'd take Starspawn over this. |
| NerdNumber105-14-07, 06:40 PM | I guess I'll go to full flight and no time limit, I just wanted to be conservative. Sometimes you want to use weapons if hybrid form. Also, the flavor of a half-bat flying demon is great (and half-bird men should fly!). |
| Captain_Kobold05-14-07, 07:23 PM | Do you sprout additional limbs when you use this, retaining your normal hybrid arms in addition to the wings, or do you lose the use of your arms and hands whilst flying? Since you have them automatically unfurling when the creature is rendered unconscious, I assume that they are the additional type, but just wanted to check. |

I'm not sure, I think I should use the same limbs, but I was staying away from it because I like the versitility. I think I'll change it to this: Lycan Wings You have developed your lycantropic wings to such an extent that you can use them in hybrid form. Benefit: In hybrid form you get a +10 racial bonus to jump checks and can fly at the same speed and manuverability as your base creature. You can't use claws or weapons in flight, but you still may use bite attacks. | Neutronium_Dragon05-14-07, 08:11 PM | Exhausted would probably be a better limitation than Fatigued. |
| NerdNumber105-14-07, 08:28 PM | Exhausted would probably be a better limitation than Fatigued. You sure that there is even need for much of a limitation when you're wasting a feat to get what you already have? |
| Neutronium_Dragon05-14-07, 09:09 PM | Well, given that the Fatigued limitation is still in there last I looked... |
| NerdNumber105-14-07, 09:30 PM | Well, given that the Fatigued limitation is still in there last I looked... You can't fly when fatigued, but since you can always go full bat that shouldn't be a problem. Humanoids weren't built for flight (just run outside and try to fly by flapping your arms) so this restriction makes some sense (more sense than half the stuff in this insane game). |
