| KoreKore05-23-07, 04:47 PM | would it be ok to have a feat that allowed a different class (in this case wizard) to count full instead of half for the purpose of initiator levels. So a wizard 9 war blade 1 could count as a initiator level of 10. |
| Ainamacar05-23-07, 04:59 PM | That's a really cheap way to enable dipping into a ToB class and grabbing great maneuvers. For that reason alone I'd frown on it. The ToB classes already count half your other levels so that high-level dips and multiclassing aren't worthless. A feat that let you increase your initiator level by 2 (max your HD) seems better to me. Sort of like practiced spellcaster, although it also grants you access to slightly better maneuvers. Since initiator level is used for fewer things than caster level, that might be a fairly reasonable trade. That's just off the top of my head, though. |

| KoreKore05-23-07, 11:33 PM | So perhaps ok for more melee oriented classes to get full initator level through a feat but not a casting class. Actually I was partially suggesting this based on the fact that they already count half of other classes as inishiator levels. I was also trying to base it on othe feats like astetic mage which allow certain classes to stack for abilites, is it that much f a game breaker or even a stretch. Am I wrong? |
| Gr8tyrant05-24-07, 08:38 AM | As the above poster said, currently it is too easy to dip, so make it harder. Requirements should be something like BAB of +6 and maybe initiator of 8 or something. That way you could get it at a high regular level, or you could take a few levels in one of the martial classes and get there faster. I still think the whole idea may be to over powered, but if you set it up make sure it isn’t easy to get. |
