| Felinax11-07-07, 01:31 PM | hey guys, i've only recently started playin D&D, currently in a campaign a friend is running, and loving every minute as my Ranger lol. just had afew short questions.... 1, are Craft (bowmaker) and Craft (fletcher) the same? coz fletcher isn't mentioned in the player handbook. 2, is it possable to create magic arrows? or does a magic bow confer its effects to the arrows? 3, if magic arrows do exist am i right in thinking i'd need to mastercraft a set of arrows then i'd need a caster with the craft mage weapon feat to enchant them? thanking you in advance -Felinax |

And yes, bows do impart there bonus to the arrows they fire. 3. In order to make magic arrows, you'd first have to buy or make some masterwork arrows. They're cost is 301 gp 7 sp per 50 arrows for masterwork arrows. Then you need to find someone with the Craft Arms and Armor feat to enchant the arrows. As a Ranger, you could even get this feat at or above 10th level (you have to be 5th level to get the feat, and a ranger's caster level is equal to one half his level). The cost to enchant the arrows would be 2000 gp. IMHO this really is not cost effective, so you'd probably want to enchant the bow instead, which would use the same Craft Arms and Armor feat. |

But, a +1 flaming arrow fired from a +1 Frost bow does both 1d6 fire damage and 1d6 cold damage. Ideally, I would enhance the bow as well as I could (+1, +2, +etc.) and then use specific arrows (silvered and blessed or cold-iron and axiomatic) for specific situations. |
