pardon me for being a retard but i am trying to figure out manyshot and rapid shot... im new to 3.5 (an old 2nd ed from like 10yrs ago player... we didnt have feats to worry about...)

can many shot be used with rapid shot? for each shot, or just once then u get additional attacks?

what if you are high enough level to get multiple attacks, like a 12th level ranger?

doesnt many shot become useless at higher levels if it CANT be used with multiple attacks and/or rapid shot?
thanks all...

No, since manyshot is a standard action to use while rapid shot requires you to use the full round attack option. It is either one or the other, but not both.:)

Its benefit is to let you make a "full attack" and still move, since using it is only a standard action. Also, all the attacks use the same attack roll. This can be useful if you value consistency(all your shots will either all miss or hit - which might be crucial if you are fairly confident of hitting your foe). On a plus side, true strike's +20 to-hit bonus effectively applies to all the arrows you fire.

Compare it with rapid shot, while you get more attacks, you are limited to a 5-ft move. Also, your iterative attacks' chances of hitting decrease accordingly. So while you fire more shots, you might not necessarily hit more times, so it is not always better than manyshot.

All in all, it depends. Each will shine in their own unique circumstances.:)
