| Hot_Sauce01-13-08, 02:22 PM | I may already know the answer to this question, but I just felt like making sure. If I use the Sneaky Shot, Palm Throw, and Double toss weapon tricks together, could I apply sneak attack damage to all 4 attacks or just one? Do I need that feat (don't recall the name) from Drow of the Underdark (or is it in Complete Scoundrel?) to apply SA to all of them? |

WHen one attack roll generates multiple attacks worth of damage, however, you do not gain additional SAs. For your example, Double Toss gives another attack roll, so would generate another SA, but Palm Throw would not give extra SA damage, as it does not generate an extra roll, even though it causes an extra attack. So you'd throw four daggers, but only do SA damage twice. For my SA MTs I prefer Palm Throw, Two with One Blow, and Weak Spot. |

Also, why not double toss, if palm throw doesn't provide extra SA dice? Just for the sake of not taking TWF? edit: also, is there a feat for adding Dex mod to thrown weapon damage? Seems logical enough, so I'd think it would be in a book somewhere. edit2: How do Weak Spot and Sneaky shot interact? Could they produce a touch attack with no Dex mod as well? |
| Hsien01-14-08, 08:33 AM | For my MT w/ daggers Ranged Trip, Imprv Critical Multiplier and Weak Spot I use Telling Blow to get sneak damage and just perform a full attack, with TWF/ITWF. He almost always got at least on crit a round, assuming creature is subject to it, and have gotten multiple crits numerous times. Dex to damage...ToB the Shadow Hand allows that feat but is limited to certain weapons which dagger is one of, iirc, my group doesn't use that book so not 100% sure. Int to damage: 3 levels of Swashbuckler...depending on what your throwing |

Also, why not double toss, if palm throw doesn't provide extra SA dice? Just for the sake of not taking TWF? You still take TWF, and it makes Palm Throw even more powerful. Doubletoss is less effective because it is a standard action. Palm Throw and Two With One both can be used with any attack, including all of your attacks in a full attack action while using TWF (for 14 daggers and 1 SA total with no other abilities, and it hits two people standing next to each other). edit: also, is there a feat for adding Dex mod to thrown weapon damage? Seems logical enough, so I'd think it would be in a book somewhere. Not sure, but Power Throw is an awesome feat for MTs, especially if you've got Weak Spot. edit2: How do Weak Spot and Sneaky shot interact? Could they produce a touch attack with no Dex mod as well? Yes, just like making an attack from hiding or invis while using Weak Spot does. |
| Hot_Sauce01-14-08, 06:14 PM | Okay, I'm beginning to see how Weak Spot+Palm throw is better than doubletoss+sneaky shot. I have PHBII, so the improved crit feature that MT's have with daggers will allow telling blow to get pretty zany. Thanks guys, I love the way my character is going to turn out! edit: Just checking- opponents who have been tripped retain their Dex to AC, right? I can't SA them? |

| Hsien01-15-08, 08:03 AM | Correct, just keep in mind that Ranged Tripping is good for crowd control, but once they are tripped they get +4 to AC vs Ranged as they are prone. Although this shouldn't be a big deal when using Touch AC anyway. Since the Ranged Trip does damage then checks for a trip, it makes for a nice option even against creatures the character is unlikely succed in the check against. |
| war_thog01-15-08, 11:40 PM | I'm not entirely sure you can do double toss and sneaky shot. Double toss is 2 seperate attack rolls made with one standard action. Sneaky shot is a move action made just before an attack to force a sleight vs spot check or no dex. Thus you make one sleight vs spot check and get one attack sneak, but not both. That's at least what I think it means. |

| Hot_Sauce01-16-08, 06:44 PM | There is a feat that lets you apply it to all attacks in a round, no? Something from Complete Scoundrel I believe? |
| zeritou01-21-08, 06:34 PM | umm, forgive my lack of knowledge, but which books are these feats in? |
| Wih01-21-08, 09:49 PM | umm, forgive my lack of knowledge, but which books are these feats in? They aren't feats, they're class abilities of the Master Thrower PrC from Complete Warrior. |
