¿Can my character take a feat or prestige class meeting prerrequisites with the help of a magic item wich improves them?

I took a look in faq but i didn't find a clear answer. Thanks.

I'd rule no.

A lot of DMs would rule no, as the ability is not yours intriniscally.

However, by RAW, there is nothing stopping you from doing this; however all agree that if the item is removed or destroyed, you can no longer use the feat or class abilities, which is a complication most players and DMs don't want to deal with.

Or if it is subject to a targetted dispel magic, or you're in an antiagic field, etc.

You didn't look very hard, then.

It's quite specifically called out in the FAQ.

Long story short, Yes, you can qualify for a feat or prestige class through the use of an item.

Personally, I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with that.
