Lloardinen 04-08-08, 02:17 AM	My group just advanced onto level 10, and as one of them is warlock, he wanted to look at the maximize/empower/heighten etc. spell like ability. Yesterday he came full of joy to me and said how fantastic it was:D . But, as we read through the feat together, his joy was turned to despair; As we both understood it (he'd forgotten to read the last bit) the feat lets you empower any spell like ability that has a spell equivalent of 1/2 your caster level -2... If this is so, what the hell is the point with that feat??? Hell, then he can't even empower Eldritch Blast (as the blast has a spell level equivalent of 5 at 10th level) , which is the example in the book for maximize spell like ability (though the example is wrong, as they've given the 10th level warlock 6d6 damage, whereas it should be 5d6.) I don't know if this has been fixed in any errata or if I've just misunderstood the feat, but anyhow it would be nice to see a clarification, or if I've understood it right any good houserules to make the feat worthwhile. Egres 04-08-08, 02:47 AM	From the CArc Errata: Page 7: Eldritch Blast Second paragraph of the Eldritch Blast ability description: Change “An eldritch blast is the equivalent of a spell whose level is equal to one-half the warlock’s class level (round down), with a minimum spell level of 1st and a maximum of 9th when the warlock reaches 18th level or higher” to “An eldritch blast is the equivalent of a 1st-level spell. If you apply a blast shape or eldritch essence invocation to your eldritch blast (see page 130), your eldritch blast uses the level equivalent of the shape or essence.” Any other references to eldritch blast being something other than the equivalent of a 1st-level spell should be disregarded. Any other references claiming that eldritch blast is not an invocation should be disregarded. A warlock can use eldritch blast at will.
