| herms02-03-08, 05:29 PM | Hi i was wandering since mi charecter is a soulknife/monk can i manifest 4 mind blade?? The monk can hit with any body part and with the soul knife i can manifest 2 mind blade. So can i create a feat that let me use 4 mind blade (1 per hand and 1 per feet) and then take multi weapon fighting feat?? Thanks Sorry for the bad english |
| RobbyPants02-03-08, 05:39 PM | No for several reasons: The blade needs to be held, so you can't hold it with your feet. You can only make one blade, until later, when you have the option of either: A short sword Two short swords A long sword A bastard sword There's no option for more than two short swords. |
| J.B.02-03-08, 05:58 PM | Literally speaking; No Although you might try the Optimizations boards and get there help/take on this. |
| dman1123502-03-08, 06:02 PM | This isn't a CharOp deal, it belongs here J.B. The mindblade is a sword, not a limb, and a soulknife/monk doesn't deal unarmed damage with the mindblade. No, you cannot wield a sword with your feet, so why should you be able to wield a mindblade with them? |
| herms02-03-08, 07:35 PM | ya your right, i always though that the mindblade was just an extention of the bodie but you really have to hold it... well thanks |
| mplindustries02-03-08, 08:40 PM | i always though that the mindblade was just an extention of the bodie This is a disturbingly common misconception, and I think its because of the misleading artwork. As a heads up to anyone new: Read the crunch and ignore the fluff. A six foot tall man takes up a five foot cube. Mechanics and flavor should never ever meet. |

Really, you can have a lot of fun if you can reconcile the fluff within the mechanics. A lot of interesting characters are the result of creative flavor or fluff within existing mechanics. |
| InkBlot02-03-08, 09:05 PM | If you just want to use Flurry Of Blows with a mind blade then you can take the Flowing Blade feat from Blades Of The Quori. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20050110a) Flowing Blade [General] Your mind blade is an extension of your body and soul, and you wield it with the same grace as your foot or fist. Prerequisite: Ability to generate a mind blade, Weapon Focus (mind blade), flurry of blows class feature. Benefit: You can treat your mind blade as a special monk weapon so that you can perform a flurry of blows with it. Special: A kalashtar or Inspired monk can select this as a bonus feat at 2nd or 6th level, in addition to the normal options available at those levels. They must still meet all prerequisites for the feat. edit: Or you can go the round-about way. Wait until you have five levels of Soulknife, shape your mindblade into a Longsword, and take Whirling Steel Strike from the Eberron Campaign Setting book. |
