Multiclassing feats to improve caster/manifester levels? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Are there already multiclasser feats that allow a character to use his absolute level (or just combined levels in particular classes) as his caster/manifester level? Example, a Wizard 5/Cleric 3 having an effective Caster Level of 7 in both spell types. Or a Psion 3/Rogue 3 having a Manifester Level of 6 for his powers?

If not, which of these variations would most comfortably fit within the power limits of a feat?

CL/ML = absolute character level, applies to all casting/manifesting classes

CL/ML = absolute character level, applies to only one casting/manifesting class

CL/ML = levels in caster/manifester class + levels in Favored or selected class.

CL/ML = levels in 1 caster/manifester class + levels in Favored or selected class.

The fluff/justification would be whatever training is promoting multiclassing in the first place focuses on always increasing the character's depth of spellcasting/manifesting knowledge even if they make no progress in increasing their breadth of knowledge.

Or is the whole idea just beyond the limits of what a feat could reasonably provide?

The Practiced Spellcaster feat from Complete Arcane seems to be when you're looking for. It increases your Caster Level for one spellcasting class by +4, though it can't cause your Caster Level to exceed your actual Character Level. Your spells known and spells per day don't increase, just Caster Level dependent effects of your spells. Great for those Fighters with 1 level of Sorcerer that are going for Dragon Disciple. Technically, this only works for Caster Level, not Manifester Level, but it would be reasonable to allow it to apply to Manifester Level.

The complete scoundrel also has a feat which allows a spell-theif/any other arcane casting class to cast both its spell thief spells and its other arcane spells as if they were of the total level.

You could also extend this to paladins or rangers and divine casters

or

Hexblades and other arcane casters

or

Soulborn and other meldshaper classes

since this feat also continues the spell thief's ability to filch spells off the combined levelyou might want to continue certain abilities of the half-caster class.

Practiced Spellcaster can work for any spellcaster. Complete Psionic has Practiced Manifester that works in a similar manner for manifester level.
