| GrogMcGee08-15-07, 06:00 PM | I'm sure this has been answered a few bazillion times now ... however, what I was able to find merely confused me more. Multidex as the feat appears in MMII says that the "creature ignores all penalties for using an offhand." Multiattack as it appears in the MMII says it it's two-weapon fighting for 3+ armed creatures... Okay so then how do these combine together? |
| StevenO08-15-07, 07:02 PM | In 3.5 they would be combine into Multi-Weapon Fighting or something like that. Effectively those feats are the Ambidexterity (obsolete) and Two-Weapon Fighter equivalents for multi-armed creatures. |
| GrogMcGee08-15-07, 08:17 PM | Thanks ... I never even noticed that MMII was 3.0 not 3.5... Doh. Okay that makes muchos more sense. Further question: does multiweapon fighting have an improved and greater version? |
| StevenO08-15-07, 08:39 PM | It may but I'm not familiar with them or where they may be located. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the improved/greater version as their power is based on the number of arms available although I would allow the two-weapon versions to improve one of those extra off-hand. If a creatures primary attacks are +16/+11/+6/+1 and each extra hand adds another +16 (pre-penalty) with multi-weapon fighting things really start to get crazy when you continue adding addional off hand attacks with multiple arms. When looking at Multiattacking creatures I'd always start with the Marilith. With a standard full attack of +25/+20/+15/+10 AND +25 x5 just imagine the problems with improved and greater MWF which this demon would logically take. +25/+20/+15/+10 AND +25/+20/+15 x5 is 19 attacks or more than double what it would normally make. |
| GrogMcGee08-15-07, 09:13 PM | Shudder... running a full attack would take so damn long... especially if it were a dervish dancing thousand cutting greater multiweapon fighting 4 armed creature... what is that like 32 attacks? |
| StruckingFuggle08-15-07, 09:14 PM | I'm sure they exist, but I can't find where right now, because for some strange reason, the feat index is down. Lame. |

Multiattack as it appears in the MMII says it it's two-weapon fighting for 3+ armed creatures... Okay so then how do these combine together? Ignore them, they are 3.0 and have been changed. Look up the feats in the MM (3.5) and use them. |
| ibayboy08-21-07, 02:04 AM | As a side note this happened during last Saturdays session. We are playing Dungeons Savage Tide adventure path. The DM is crowing about the demon with 2 bodies, 12 arms, and 2 bites, 17 attacks total, which we just woke up. Well we got the drop on it slightly for a coupla good hits. Then it proceeded to go all multi-attack on my Warblade. On the 4th hit it missed, i activated my Counterstrike Bracers, and BAM!, multi that b***h. Needless to say it went down faster than Paris. Morale... you should always back up multi melee attacks with some hit points. |
