How would this work for a character who cannot speak? i thought social skills were a no-no for non-speaking characters? |
| pigknight04-26-08, 04:46 PM | Why not? Just 'cause he's mute doesn't mean he can't scare the bejesus out of you. |
| ciaran04-26-08, 08:03 PM | It can't be communicated over the internet. Try running into somebody who didn't want to be found in a dark alley. |

Intimidate is useable without penalty (beyond size penalty) against any non-mindless creature not immune to fear, including animals for instance. It is an entirely visual skill, how good your are at LOOKING scary. |

| pigknight04-26-08, 11:01 PM | I noticed something, the only good thing with the CW samurai, with enough specialization you have a 50/50 chance to intimidate the tarresque. |
| fridesgerte04-28-08, 12:40 AM | My mute Fighter does a pretty good job of intimidating. Just the sight of her 6-foot frame standing there in full plate, leaning on her greatsword, and smiling, gets peoples attention. (+10 intimidate). She also does the silent scary bodyguard routine and backs up our cleric or rogue for when diplomacy fails. She does OK on gather information also. She takes a gentler approach, wearing her comfortable old studded leather and sitting quietly in the tavern, listening, nodding and occationally buying a round. (+4 gather info). Even when she could speak, that was how she usually did it. |

Most warriors shout battlecries, grunts and so on in battle, voicing no sound at all can be very intimidating. |
