Lokai 03-18-08, 02:55 AM	So at moment trying to convince my DM to let me take a feat i stumbled accros, and he's reasonable but he feels the following feat might be over powered for a theurge. Hybrid Mage [General] You are able to cast arcane spells as divine spells and vice versa. Prerequisite: Must be able to cast arcane spells without preparation. Must be able to cast divine spells without preparation. Benefit: You are able to cast one of your arcane spellcasting class' spells known as a divine spell using your divine spellcasting class' spell slot. The inverse also applies, to where you can cast one of your divine spellcasting class' spells known as an arcane spell using your arcane spellcasting class' spell slot. that is the feat, requires 4 sorc and 4 Shugenja(or favored soul,warmage) to attain essentially. Lets cast any spell know from ethier classes spells per day. So looking for opinons for and against this feat and anyhelp be great posted on a couple boards before i realized was a board for feats ^^ so any help be great.

Wait -- so you must be a Sorcerer/Shugenja, a Sorcerer/Favored Soul or a Sorcerer/Warmage? That last one doesn't make sense, because a Warmage is an Arcane Caster, and that combo has no divine casting. What classes are you using this feat for? In general, mixing casting classes is a "low powered" endeavor to begin with, as you will lose out on high level spells from both classes. This means your save DCs amongst other things are lower. So, this basically lets you add up all your spell slots for both classes? This certainly makes you much more versatile, but (depending partly on what classes you are taking) your "spells known" are still quite limited, so it does not seem particularly overpowered. I would suggest giving it a kind of "test run" for a couple of sessions and see how it plays out in the game before permanently approving it or disallowing it. What third party book is that from by the way?
Lokai 03-18-08, 03:19 AM	i was speaking in general have to be 2 spontanious casting classes(both divine and arcane) to qualify and, i actually got this off a web page is a feat some one designed for Dragon Lance i guess however, is an offical feat from dragon magazine and name eludes me friend was one spoke of it. He said it read somthing like, can prepare any arcane spell in a divine spell slot or a divine spell in an arcane spell slot at a -1 caster level. That was orginal feat probably spawned this feat, at anyrate just trying to get opinions on if people feel this feat would be game breaking or not. Trial run sounds like an idea be a awhile before i can get it but DM was a little afraid this would make me destroy everything, but considering i'm 4 levels behind other casters i thought would allow me to at least heal everyone with smaller heals on a constant basis do to large number of spells per day. Edit: and before anyone says " your just gimping youself" yea i know and i dont care ^^ a character always wanted to play.
