I can't recall what the name or prereq for this one feat I know is. It's one of several improvements for Improved Crit. I think it's Devastating Crit or some such, it's effect is that a critical forces the target to succeed on a Fort save, or die instantly.

Yes Devastating Critical is correct, it is an Epic Feat though. It can be found on pg 48 of the Epic Level Handbook.

Prerequisites are: Str 25, Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved Critical (chosen weapon), Overwhelming Critical (chosen weapon) [on same page], Power Attack, Weapon Focus (chosen weapon)
Benefit: Whenever you score a critical hit with the chosen weapon, the target must make a Fort save (DC 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Strength mod) or die instantly. (creatures immune to critical hits are also immune to this).

Oh yeah and Overwhelming Critical has the same prerequisites except you only need Str 23, and you don't need Overwhelming Crit (obviously).

Benefit: When you score a successful critical hit you deal an additional 1d6 damage to the target. If the crit multiplier of your weapon is x3 you get an extra 2d6 dmg and so on....

...You can take it and the prereqs for it for natural attacks, right? Or possibly a special ability (such as a breath weapon)?

Natural Attacks, yes.

Breath Weapon, no. Look at the pre-rec feats again. You need Weapon Focus and Improved Critical with your chosen weapon in order to take the feat. A breath weapon is not a legal target for either of those feats--unless it's a ray of some kind--since it doesn't require an attack roll and thus can't get a critical hit.

Moreover, the feat itself would not do anything for most breath weapons as to activate Devastating Critical you need to have a critical which you can't get with most breath weapons.

You need something that requires an attack roll.
