| Cegodnd04-23-07, 06:47 PM | I decided to make a test and do a tank character, something i never did. I have a nice AC and i got the Goad feat to attract some attention, but i want to know if there is another feat to attract even more enemies. So far Goad, high iniciative and using a light armor did the job to attract enemies every time, but i'm afraid that it will fail sometimes, and i want to know if there is another resource to attract them. If anyone can sugest a feat or even another strategy i didn't think of to get enemies to look at me I'll appreciate. |

I would suggest tactics that involve them more, like hiding/invisibility, sanctuary spells, and simply keeping you between them and the enemy. If you have combat reflexes and a reach weapon, just keep yourself between your party and the enemy as best you can. |

For a), make a build that can output good damage. You'd still be hard-pressed to be more threatening than the party caster, though. For b), a good way to do that would be to use the Spiked Chain and size boosters. Feats like Improved Trip and Stand Still mean monsters will have a tough time reaching your back line, while stuff like Mage Slayer makes it tough for mages to cast. |

| Cegodnd04-27-07, 07:39 PM | Very good idea to use the spiked chain with improved trip, i'll do that. Thanks. |
| Druss_of_The_Sword04-28-07, 07:32 AM | You could spend a little more money to get the Glamered armor which is a magical upgrade in the DMG. This makes others think that your just in regular travelars clothes insted of huge armor. This will make anyone think "heh heh easy prey". |

| somogyi04-28-07, 03:48 PM | imo having a high ac is bad for tanking. if ur opponents cant hit u they will give up and atk someone else. high hp good with moderate ac. also learn a bunch of languages and insult and whtnot ur enemies, that always helps a little. |
| Nathreet04-28-07, 05:11 PM | Very good idea to use the spiked chain with improved trip, i'll do that. Thanks. You can trip on an AoO, btw (or any attack for that matter). Great if they're trying to rush past you. Combat reflexes could help too. |
