| dragonslayer66609-08-07, 04:54 AM | ok the book i read says RAPIDSTRIKE If you have a pair of natural weapons, such as two claws, two wings, or two slams, you can make one extra attack with one of those weapons at a –5 penalty. A creature with multiple limbs qualifies for this feat as well, such as a creature with three arms and three claw attacks. IMPROVED RAPIDSTRIKE If you have a pair of natural weapons, such as two claws, two wings, or two slams, you can make two or more extra attacks with one of those weapons, the first at a –5 penalty and the second and subsequent attacks at an additional –5, but never more than four extra attacks. Creatures with multiple limbs qualify for this feat as well, so a creature with three arms and three claw attacks qualifies for this feat now does this mean that if you have say 2 claws that each claw would get one extra attack or only 1 extra attack only in the case of rapidstike and concerning improved rapidstrike pretty much the same question does each of the natural weapons you take the feat for get the extra attacks or just 1 claw |
| EjoThims09-08-07, 04:59 AM | Rapidstrike gives you one exta attack each time you take it, and you can only take it once for each pair of natural weapons. Imp Rapidstrike gives you two to four extra attacks each time you take it, and you can only take it once for each pair of natural weapons. |
| runestar09-08-07, 07:17 AM | How does it work if you have 3 of the same natural attacks? For example, 3 claws could in theory be classified as 3 pairs of natural attacks. Does that mean you could take improved rapidstrike thrice? |
| EjoThims09-08-07, 07:23 AM | For example, 3 claws could in theory be classified as 3 pairs of natural attacks. No. 3 claws is one and one half pairs. 6 claws is three pairs, and if you took rapidstrike and improved rapidstrike three seperate times (for a total of six feats), you could make up to four extra attacks with each pair, or 12 extra attacks in all, for a total of 18 claw attacks. |
| runestar09-08-07, 07:29 AM | 3 claws is one and one half pairs. Could it not be classified like this? Say I had 3 claws, named a, b and c. So my 3 pairs would consist of a+b, b+c, a+c. Hypothetically, the feat does not say that a natural attack already "attached" to a rapidstrike feat cannot be applied to yet another rapidstrike feat, though I admit that I am really stretching the interpretation here...:embarrass :P |

Excellent point, as the feat is limited to being taken once per pair and not one for each weapon. This could indeed actually work. Though are the benefits worth chewing up two feats per pair? And are their any decent, low ECL, 3 armed races? |

| vylo09-08-07, 07:31 PM | Those 12 attacks, are they -5/-10/15/-20/-25/-30/ etc. Or is each pair -5/-10/-15/-20? |
| EjoThims09-09-07, 07:06 AM | Each set of extra attacks would be at -5/-10/-15/-20. |
