| EpicEvokerElf12-27-06, 05:10 PM | Here's an idea for a feat for Binders (Tome of Magic): Improved Vestige Capacity Your soul can contain more vestiges than that of most binders. Prerequisites: Soul Binding class feature Benefit: You are treated as a binder of two levels higher for the purpose of determining the number of vestiges you can bind at a time. Is it too good? Does it need more prereqs? Thanks in advance for the feedback! |

| Soel Griffin12-28-06, 04:46 AM | I'm all for any Binder love, but this feat is really just a patch for the class. The Binder needs to be able to bind many more vestiges than it does already, as well as having the Expel Vestige feat for free. These changes would give the class the versatility that it appears to have at first glance, but really doesn't. I'd also argue for each vestige to offer more powers to the Binder (some even have additional powers described in their write-ups, but not actually granted. Probably removed in last-pass editing.) However, if you're not wanting to implement such heavy changes to the Binder, then this feat definately helps them out. Even with such houserules, it is still a worthwhile feat. |
| EpicEvokerElf12-28-06, 11:36 AM | I MAY give them Expel Vestige for free (at what level?), but the feat aids any combos the player might want. I have a 12th level binder in the making, and his founding combination (Chupoclops, Ipos, Amon) only works with 3 vestiges. That's actually why I made this feat. |
| Pyke_Moonshadow12-28-06, 11:49 AM | Expel Vestige only works once per day right? |
| EpicEvokerElf12-28-06, 12:31 PM | Right, but it's good for a binder who needs to switch jobs midday. Like, scouting in the morning, melee in the afternoon. |

Also, increase its use to perhaps 3 times/a day. They need true versatility. |
| EpicEvokerElf12-28-06, 10:04 PM | Thanks. I may also add a feat to reduce the penalty on binding checks. |

I think that the ability to change out vestiges is more useful than having more bound at a time. I even made a PRC that did that. More vestiges are nice but having the capacity to bind as needed is far more useful. |

I made an Improved Expel Vestige feat that lets you change out vestiges two more times a day; it can be taken more than once. We have extra turning, rage, bardic music, etc, why not vestige switching? |
| EpicEvokerElf12-29-06, 02:55 PM | I'd say more vestiges are better than switching. You can still be versatile, or you can be focused and very good at one thing. (Like Andras, Eligor, Savnok, etc.) |
| Soel Griffin12-30-06, 03:07 AM | Well, let's have both! Even still, I don't think the Binder breaks any easier than any other class after adding these changes. |
| kyeudo01-01-07, 11:39 PM | One problem with your feat: Binders pick up a new vestige at 5 level intervals. This feat would only grant a benifit for 8 levels out of 20. |
