We've been long time players, but I haven't posted much on the boards, so I'm a bit new to this forum stuff. Also, I've read a few other posts from those who have posted their feat inventions, and I've see them use the word PEACH. Just wondering what that means? Power Trip: You have become expert at making forceful sweeping attacks at your enemies legs. Prerequisites: Base Attack +5, STR 18, Power Attack, Improved Trip Befefit: When making a full attack, you may choose instead to make a single attack against a foe (not larger than one size category larger than you) with at least a -4 to your power attack ability. If this attack is successful roll for damage as normal, but instead of adding your strength to the damage score, the foe is denied his opposed strength check and is immediatly tripped. However, if the attack misses, you then receive the same penalty you chose for your power attack modifier (minimum of -4) and apply half that number (rounded down) as an armor class penalty (-2 to AC for a -4 to attack) until the beginning of your next turn. This attack must be made with a two-handed weapon (not just those desinged as trip weapons) however you must be using a two-handed weapon, and not just a one handed weapon weilded with two hands. The improved trip feat still grants an extra attack when using this feat. *when attacking a foe with more than one set of legs, you receive an additional -4 to your attack roll |

The feat is giving someone a bonus, not giving an enemy a minus which is quite significant. The rest got a bit complex and i had a hard time following. Why not just give the minus straight to AC rather then just faffing about halfing and rounding? (something i'm never fond of) It sounds like a reckless act and should reflect that. *when attacking a foe with more than one set of legs, you receive an additional -4 to your attack roll This is already applied to an opponents opposed trip attempt (along with size modifiers etc) I think a monk should be able to use this feat, as seen in countless martial arts movies (a large roundhouse kick coming at you, so you duck and swipe the other leg out kinda thing) |
| Vaelan08-21-07, 02:54 PM | It is entirely too powerful. Touch attacks are trivial. This is already applied to an opponents opposed trip attempt (along with size modifiers etc) And the feat bypasses the opposed trip attempt entirely. As such, it is reflected elsewhere. |
