The rarer the metal and or combination of damage reduction you use the more powerful the spell becomes, see the next table for examples DAMAGE REDUCTION SPELL LEVEL silver 1 gold 2 platinum 3 cold iron 4 cold wood 5 in addition to that you can also use this spell to add more properties to the weapon you are currently using. However if you were to do so it would also add 50% to the level of the first modified weapon. See the next table. DAMAGE REDUCTIOn SPELL LEVEL Magic & Silver 2 magic & gold 3 (rounded up) magic & platinum 4 magic & evil 4 magic & good 4 magic & cold iron 5 The way it works is if you use the feat (standard action) then you burn a spell level according to which DR you are trying to bypass. So for instance a if you are trying to bypass silver & magic you would burn up a level 2 spell. |

| celloshane07-16-07, 07:56 PM | Damage Reduction is typically considered too powerful of an ability to be granted by a feat. |
| JadeSpider964307-16-07, 09:13 PM | I'm confused. If i'm reading everything correctly, this feat grants both adjustable DR and adjustable DR bypassing? In return you give up 1 spell/minute of use? this seems drasticly over-powered. ... gold and platinum DR??? and i think you mean alchemical silver DR. |
| samoosa69107-19-07, 09:36 PM | the feat does not grant DR, it just allows you to bypass DR for 1 minute a level once you sacrifice the spell level required for that particular damage reduction. And no I do mean gold and platinum, because in a ravenloft campaign setting that are those that have gold DR etc... |
| yrogerg07-19-07, 10:18 PM | Err... Cold Wood? Isn't all wood "is forged at a lower temperature to preserve its delicate properties"? |
| starfire31107-19-07, 10:28 PM | Err... Cold Wood? Isn't all wood "is forged at a lower temperature to preserve its delicate properties"? I would not recommend forging wood at typical forge temperatures... o I would assume it is cold... hot wood would not last too long. @OPI think you are a a bit confused about DnD DR either that or you have a lot of house rules that I have never seen. |
