Using them as a template, I created a new one... ...how does it sound to you? ELDRITCH LYRIST [General] Prerequisites: Bardic Knowledge, Bardic Music 2/day, Eldritch Blast +2d6 Benefit: Bard and Warlock levels stack for Bardic Knowledge, Bardic Music and Eldritch Blast. What do you think? ...balanced? ...would you change anything? Impressions and constructive discussion appreciated. :) |

A bard with a few levels of warlock with this would be very cool thematically, but not nearly as powerful as some of the better bard PrCs, so I'd say balance shouldn't be much of a problem. |

While Bardic Knowledge is mostly informative Bardic Music (and a high perform level) is what makes the Bard distinctive. Perhaps the requirements are enough but this feat basically just adds all the Bard's ability to the Warlock. Maybe someone would rather take the Bard's spell progression and skills over all the Warlock's Invocations and abilities but I'm certainly not one of them. |

I wanted to include hanguns and rifles, in a style like feudal japan, or 19th century US for more advanced stuff, so i gave guns as exotic weapon proficiency to bard. Sure nuff, someone started a bard. This basucally allows you to decide after a couple of levels of bard, that instead of casting as an arcane caster, you are now a warlock? I really like the flavor, dunno though how good it would be with a warlock in practice. maybe if you could somehow silence eldritch blast, so you dint have to break song? you would suffer at higher levels, though, because you wouldnt ever match anything close to the perform of a bard, so you would be behind, and you are giving up a couple of really good levels at low lvl for the progression of the invocations, i can see how this might not jive for pure power. |

The thing is, if I'm playing a Bard, and you offer me full eldritch blast and a couple of invocations, that's a pretty sweet deal even if it means sacrificing 3 levels of spellcasting (or 4, if you go for Deceive Item). If I'm playing a Warlock and you offer me bardic music... well, that's not terrible, but I'd still seriously be considering keeping my extra feat and extra invocation and skipping the bard stuff. |
