I need some opinions as to whether or not this is a fair feat/ability for a homebrew PrC.

Frustrating Defense

Prereq: Dodge, Combat Expertise

For every missed attack from an opponent who you are dodging you gain a +1 to the following rounds attacks on that target.

This represents the opponent becoming frustrated as they fail to hit you, opening up oppertunities for you to retaliate. Any thoughts? Thanks.

"Following rounds?" does that mean until the end of the encounter? if that's true the feat is probably not balanced.

It would be alright if the benefit lasted until the end of your next turn, though. I'd add in a BAB +6 or +8 prerequisite though.

Yes I meant till the end of your next turn.

The BAB prereq sounds good. I like it.

Thanks :)

The stance Pearl of Black Doubt of the Diamond Mind discipline (Tome of Battle) does almost exactly what this feat does only better.

No, the Pearl of Black Doubt stance increases your AC by a cumulative +2 Dodge bonus for every attack that misses you. It does not grant you bonuses to attack. It's somewhat similar, but hardly the same thing.

D'oh. I read that as gaining +1 AC, not AB. :)

Sounds like a min maxing attempt to me.

The question is: Why would you want a strong defense to equate to a strong offense?

The feat would essentially mean that stacking defense has no drawback. There should be one. I'd limit it to a numerical bonus similar to the limits on combat expertise. Make it a feat for defensive characters to remain useful in the damage department.

As is, you may as well call it 'Super Combat Expertise' and just indicate that a character can increase their dodge without shaving off attk power. Hehe, hyperbole I know, but you get my point.

Clean up the language. Make it read "on attacks made against that opponent before the end of your next turn".

If by "hyperbole" you mean "has already been published"...
