Benefit: When making a Craft chech or Profession check, if you have helpers, you take less time and they get some xp. The assistants can not use skill points for any skill they did not assist in until they have maxed out the skills they assisted in. You have 8-11 ranks and an assistant with at least 4 ranks: Progress for Profession and Craft is per 5 days instead of 7 You have 12-16 ranks, one assistant with at least 7 ranks: Progress for Profession and Craft is per 4 days instead of 7 You have 17-23 ranks, one assistant with at least 10 ranks and another with at least 7 ranks: Progress for Profession and Craft is per 3 days instead of 7 You have 24 or more ranks, one assistant with at least 13 ranks one with at least 10 ranks, and a third with at least least 7 ranks: Progress for Profession and Craft is per 2 days instead of 7 When assisting someone with a Profession check, you earn your regular amount of money every week (not sped up the way the Mentor's speed is increased - pro-rate any extra time). If Assisting someone with a craft check, you don't get any cash at all (but the mentor will provide food and lodging.) In both Profession and Craft cases, assistants gain 1 xp for every 25 gp worth of final value they create. Example: I have 24 ranks, +6 from stats (etc), the Mentor feat, and the appropriate assistants. Normally to make Platemail, value of 1,500 gp. DC is 18 Average roll is 40. I decide to boost the DC by 10 to speed things up even further. 40*28 = 1120 sp. I normally make 1120 sp per week, and am done in about 14 weeks. But because I am such an experienced mentor with 3 students, I am done in 28 days instead of 14 weeks. During that time, my assistants each gain 1500/25 = 60 xp. When my assistants level up, they can not get any ranks in until after they have maxed out their Armorcraft ranks. |
