Here are the Rules for NotCon Combat Feat Creation Contest

"It is a wonder that we killed even one. These humble warriors, they fight like gods of battle. The techniques they used, why I've never seen them before."

Welcome all to the contest! The following rules are to be used for the contest:

The Rules

1) Starting now, all entries should be posted onto this thread. This way, no entries will be lost since the thread can not be found.

2) Comments on entries are not to be done on this thread. If they are found, the comments will be removed from the thread by a WizO. This thread is solely for the submission of entries for the contest.

3) On 9:00 EST Saturday night, the submission period for the contest will end. At that time, the judges will select which top ten entries will continue to the final round. Any entries submitted after that period will be disqualified.

4) On Sunday night, a voting thread, with the selections chosen by judges, will start which will allow everyone to select the winning entry from the top ten. This thread will be closed at 12:00 midnight EST of the 14th.

5) Entries into the contest can not be entries that have been posted previously on the boards. Part of the contest is to allow all to start at the same footing and allow people to come up with their best concepts with a limited time.

6) Entries can not be entries from other published sources. If an entry is found to violate this, the entry will be voided and the guest who submitted the entry will be barred from the contest. Plagiarism will be seriously frowned upon.

7) Each guest is limited to only one entry per guest. This extends to MuPs.

8) If there are any concerns with any of the entries (whether the guest has posted it on the board previously or that the material is plagiarized), please send me an e-mail, IM, or PM at jaerc.fflewdyr@gmail.com. Do not note it in a thread on the boards.

9) Entries will be judged on the basis of four main criteria for the selection to the final round: coolness factor, creativity, technical consistancy and balance. You may want to keep this in mind when developing your entry. Entries should come in the form of a feat that is in some wat, directly useful in a combat situation. Interpret that as you will.

10) For the feat creation contest, the following items are needed for each entry in this format, as applicable:

NAME [Tag]
Flavour text
Prerequisites Ability to do stuff
Benefit(s) You do new better stuff.
Special However...

11) Another thread will be created for questions concerning the contest. Please post all questions concerning the contest in that thread and not this one.

Best of luck in the contest!

READY FOR 4DVENTURE [General]
When the revolution comes, you won't be one of the losers up against the wall!
Prerequisites: Human, dwarf, elf, half-elf, or halfling. No levels in any class besides fighter, cleric, wizard, warlock, ranger, paladin or rogue.
Benefit: Should a cataclysmic event overturn the very fundamental rules of the world sometime in the near future, you can adapt. Some of your abilities may change, and your magic items may be transformed, but your name, life history, and basic style will be unaffected.

Drive Shot
Oooo a whole in one!
Prerequisites: Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Piercing Shot (I think thats a feat if not, replaced with improved precise shot), Strength score of 18 or higher.
Benefit: When making an attack with a ranged weapon (meaning not a ray or other spell-like ranged attack) you may elect to make only one attack. This attack gains a +2 bonus to hit and damage per attack you elected to give up and +1 to hit and damage if you fire within 20 ft. of the target and an additional +1 per 5ft. increment (up to +4 when adjacent). In addition you may make a special bull rush attempt using this attack. When making opposed checks replace your strength bonus to the check with the damage dealt by the drive shot.
Special: Drive Shot may be selected by a fighter as his/her bonus feat.

Strike the Heartbeat [Ambush]
You can aim for vital organs by the sound they make.
Prerequisites: Sneak Attack 2d6, Listen 10 ranks, Blindfight, Hear the Unseen (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Hear_The_Unseen,CAd)
Benefit: As a move action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, you can attempt a DC 30 Listen check. If successful, you can not only pinpoint the location of all foes within 30 feet but can also hear the functions of organs, such as the beat of a heart or the expansion of lungs.
This benefit allows a rogue to use their sneak attack even if they cannot see their target and the target for that round is not considered to have concealment because of being unseen.
If you are deafened or within an area of silence, you can't use this feat. This feat does not work against perfectly silent opponents, such as incorporeal creatures.
Using this feat reduces your sneak attack damage by 1d6.
Special: As a further result of this feat you can determine how many creatures within 30 feet are of the type that can be sneak attacked.

IMPROVED AURA [DRACONIC]
You harness the might of your ancestor to make your aura more powerful.
Prerequisites : Cha 15, Draconic aura class feature, dragontouched (or dragonblood subtype), draconic aura bonus +3.
Benefit : Choose one draconic aura you know. You gain additionnal benefits when using the aura you selected.
Energy shield : Half the damage of the energy shield becomes untyped, not subject to any kind energy resistance or immunities.
Power: The damage bonus from the power aura increases by +1 and anyone who benefits from this aura treats his weapon as magic for purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
Presence : The aura grant frigthful presence (as the feat; see draconomicon page 106), but only the character who initiate the aura gain the benefit; add the aura bonus to the DC to resist the frightful presence.
Resistance : The aura grant a bonus to saving throws against attack of the type it grants resistance to equals to the aura bonus, as well as the benefit of a endure element spell.
Sense : The aura also grant blind-fight (as the feat), an additionnal +2 on search check to find secret doors, and blindsense within 5 ft.

(For example, a lawful evil character who choses good grant damage reduction 1/magic and good.) This feature only works on the initiator of the aura. The damage reduction granted by the aura increases to 2+(aura bonus) (applies to all who benefit from the aura).
Vigor : The fast healing continues working even if the character as more than half is normal maximum hit point, but only for the character who generates the aura. Other targets affected by the aura still benefit from fast helaing if there below or at half their full normal hit points.
Special : This feat can be taken multiple times. Each time, chose a different aura to which the benefits apply. The secondary feats granted by this aura cannot be used to qualify for other feats or prestige classes.

Master of Inaction [General]
The warrior was powerful and made many unexpected maneuvers, but the worst was when he did nothing...just stood there, staring...the staring! The staring!! Move darn you move!!! Why don't you do something!?!? AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prerequisites: Base Attack Bonus +10, Intimidate 10 ranks, Concentration 10 ranks
Benefit: You are a master of action, but when it is needed, you can also a master inaction, causing your weaker opponents to crumble mentally. You may take a full-round action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity to do nothing. You must take a full-round action to maintain this ability. If an opponent attempts to attack you or target you for any spell or ability, they must succeed on a sense motive check opposed by your intimidate check or that attack, spell, or ability fails. For every consecutive round you maintain this ability, you gain a +2 bonus to this intimidate check. Additionally, for every continuous round passed the first that you maintain this ability your opponents become more unnerved by your inaction.

When you initiate this ability, make an intimidate check DC20. If you succeed this ability effects a radius of 30ft +10ft for every 5 the check exceeded the DC. So a result of 30 would effect a radius of 50ft. If your intimidate check fails, you lose this use of the ability as your opponents do not take your ploy seriously. All opponents within the effected radius must make a will save with a DC equal to 10 +1/2 HD +2 for every previous save. Upon a failed will save, the opponent suffers an effect as listed on the table below. A creature who has failed his save must continue making saves at a -2 penalty to his will save, additional failures result in more serious effects. All effects stack and continue for as long as you use this ability a number of rounds thereafter equal to number of failed saves.

While using this ability your dexterity becomes effectively 1 and you automatically fail all reflex saves. You may only use this ability 2/day and may maintain this ability for a number of rounds up to the number of ranks you have in the concentration skill.

Number of Failed Saves Effect
1 -4 penalty to all Sense Motive check
1 -4 penalty to all Sense Motive check
1 Shaken
1 Sickened
1 Dazed
1 Paralyzed
1 Insanity
Special: A fighter may take this feat as one of his fighter bonus feats.

PARRY

You can block your enemies' attacks with your weapon or your shield.

Prerequisite: Dodge, base attack bonus +6.

Benefit: When an enemy attacks you with a melee attack, you get an immediate attempt to parry the attack. You must wield a one-handed or two-handed melee weapon or a shield to make a parry attempt (but see Special). To parry an attack, make an attack roll opposed by your enemy's attack roll. If you beat your enemy's attack roll, you successfully parry the attack, meaning that the attack is treated as if it missed you. If you fail to beat your enemy's attack roll, the attack is resolved as usual. You must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed. You must use this feat before the attack roll is made. You forfeit your attack of opportunity if you use this feat. Even if you have the Combat Reflexes feat, you can't use this feat more than once per round.

Special: If you roll a natural 1 on your attack roll, the attack is treated as a sunder attempt against your weapon or shield, except that your enemy doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity from you and your enemy's attack roll is used to determine whether the sunder attempt is successful.

Special: You can make a parry attempt with a shield. If you make a parry attempt with the shield, add the shield's shield bonus to Armor Class to your attack roll. You may also parry a ranged attack, but not a ranged touch attack, with a shield.

ONE SHALL STAND, ONE MUST FALL [GENERAL]
In every fighter's life, there comes a do-or-die moment. You are exceptionally prepared to meet such moments and embrace them by sacrificing your vitality to increase your combat effectiveness.

Prerequisites Con 16, Power Attack, base attack bonus +11

Benefit Once per day as a swift action, you may voluntarily take damage to your Constitution score such that it is reduced to 1. Your hit point total is reduced appropriately and if this reduction brings you to less than -10 hit points, you immediately die. If you are brought to between -1 and -9 hit points, you immediately fall unconscious and are dying as normal. If you are left with 0 or more hit points, you may use your Power Attack feat without penalizing your attack rolls. In all regards this is treated as Power Attacking for your full base attack bonus's value, but you do not subtract that value from your attacks rolls.

Special Characters immune to Con damage cannot take advantage of this feat. A fighter may select One Shall Stand, One Must Fall as one of his fighter bonus feats.
