| LarsWyrdson08-14-07, 09:35 AM | Does anyone know of a feat that allows you to use full strength bonus to damage with off-hand weapon? Nope! The best I can offer is over-sized two weapon fighting, which lets you treat a one haded weapon as light if used in your off hand. You still only get 1/2 STR bonus though. |
| dndlocke08-14-07, 09:50 AM | Off hand weapon expert Dex 13+ BaB +4 or higher add full str to offhand attacks. from quintessential fighter pg 39 |
| tarkin08-14-07, 10:42 AM | Yes, a NON-WOTC book does off that feat. But to get it via WOTC you need to take a prestige class. Surprise surprise, what WOTC requires you to take a prestige class, 3rd party publishers (read overpowered) let you do with a mere feat. |
| zeratulcraft08-14-07, 10:48 AM | The idea behind offhand being only .5x str damage is to balance against 2h'ers, who also only get 1.5x Str damage. So if you do 1x str offhand, you might as well do one for 2x str with 2h'ers. |

Surprise surprise, what WOTC requires you to take a prestige class, 3rd party publishers (read overpowered) let you do with a mere feat. 3rd Party Publishers sometimes do a better job at balance than WotC. Not in this case, but there isn't some general rule that says "3rd Party Publishers suck!". |
| Steely_Dan08-14-07, 10:55 AM | So if you do 1x str offhand, you might as well do one for 2x str with 2h'ers. As Saga has so elegantly implemented. |
| Steely_Dan08-14-07, 10:58 AM | but there isn't some general rule that says "3rd Party Publishers suck!". I too often hear that Malhovic Press and Green Ronin often do a better job than WotC. But yes, I do hear that Mongoose publishing sucks large amounts of donkey schlong. |
| Bihlbo08-14-07, 11:02 AM | Does anyone know of a feat that allows you to use full strength bonus to damage with off-hand weapon? No, I don't. But, monks add full strength damage to off-hand unarmed strikes, as well as not having any penalty to the off-hand unarmed attack roll. A feat could be made that allows a monk to add her full Str bonus to damage rolls with an off-hand special monk weapon. I mean, they already have little reason to fight unarmed, so you might as well kill the reasons entirely. |
| DrMorganes08-14-07, 11:12 AM | Actually, Monks have no offhand attack when attacking unarmed: A monk’s attacks may be with either fist interchangeably or even from elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a monk may even make unarmed strikes with her hands full. There is no such thing as an off-hand attack for a monk striking unarmed. A monk may thus apply her full Strength bonus on damage rolls for all her unarmed strikes. Standard offhand rules apply for using weapons, though I agree with Bihlbo's reasoning for a Monk-only feat allowing full STR bonus for offhand attacks with monk-only weapons. |
| EjoThims08-14-07, 06:25 PM | No, I don't. But, monks add full strength damage to off-hand unarmed strikes, as well as not having any penalty to the off-hand unarmed attack roll. Wrong, when making a main-hand unarmed attack with a body part other than the main-hand, including the off-hand, they still add full strength bonus. When making off-hand attacks, even unarmed ones, they add only half strength bonus. Why are people still confusing the source of attacks with the weapon making the attack? Essentially, when a monk is TWF they have two sets of unarmed strikes. Their main-hand unarmed strikes and their off-hand unarmed strikes. BOTH sets can be made with any part of the bod, but the main-hand gets full strength bonus and the off-hand gets half. The fluff text in the monk's entry references flurry and single weapon fighting, it has nothing to do with the way in a which a monk interacts with the TWF rules. |
| ShaRd200008-15-07, 04:21 AM | What prestige class allows you to get full strength bonus on your offhand? |
| EjoThims08-15-07, 08:22 AM | What prestige class allows you to get full strength bonus on your offhand? I believe it's Tempest in CAdv. But it's a pretty lackluster class otherwise. |
| Spikes01k08-15-07, 08:49 AM | There is also Blood Claw from Bo9S. |
| Frugal08-15-07, 08:51 AM | I believe it's Tempest in CAdv. But it's a pretty lackluster class otherwise. Nope, it removes the last -2/-2 penalty for TWF but you still deal 1/2 STR damage off-hand. |
| risner08-15-07, 08:56 AM | Does anyone know of a feat that allows you to use full strength bonus to damage with off-hand weapon? No, and it is outside the scope of power a feat can provide. There is a class with a class ability that does this. |
| EjoThims08-15-07, 09:00 AM | Nope, it removes the last -2/-2 penalty for TWF but you still deal 1/2 STR damage off-hand. Oh, even more lackluster than I had thought then... |
| LarsWyrdson08-15-07, 09:51 AM | Get Oversized Two Weapon Fighting then pick up the gloves that let you wield weapons one size category larger without penalty. That will boost your overall damage much more than full STR offhand. Wielding two large longswords is much better than doing a little extra damage with your left hand weapon, and will give you good synergies if you pick up weapon specific feats like Weapon Focus or Specialization. |
| Frugal08-15-07, 10:19 AM | Oh, even more lackluster than I had thought then... It's good and bad, it's only a 5 level PrC, you get the elimination of TWF penalties which is kind of nice, the big ones I think are that you get to use both weapons with spring attack and that most feats that you have to select the weapon to apply it to will apply to both weapons as long as you fight with that weapon in one hand, so it's kind of nice for those who want to do a mix and match with their weapons and not have to double invest in things like weapon focus or improved crit. But yeah, not exactly the greatest PrC. |
| TorgSmackie08-15-07, 12:32 PM | Off-hand Symmetry Prerequisites: Str 11 or less. Benefit: You gain the same Strength bonus to damage with your off hand that you do with your main hand. Special: Everybody gets this feat for free. |

| EdXCal08-16-07, 01:26 AM | I used over-sized two weapon fighting on a fighter once with two bastard swords, that was an awesome fighter! heh! |
| TorgSmackie08-16-07, 02:05 AM | I used over-sized two weapon fighting on a fighter once with two bastard swords, that was an awesome fighter! heh! If you had been a half giant, they would've been Large bastard swords. 2d8 base each hand. |
| Steely_Dan08-16-07, 03:53 AM | If you had been a half giant, they would've been Large bastard swords. 2d8 base each hand. Yeah, one of my players is running a half-orc barbarian 2/ranger 10, who wields two large balanced bastard swords – juicy. |
| EjoThims08-16-07, 08:40 AM | Actually, if your Str bonus is more than +8 (which is pretty easy to get on a melee centric character) then getting full Str to OH will usually be better than using a larger weapon. |
