Perhaps a moot point, all things considered, but I was driving a long distance recently and this kept my mind occupied. Remember that fractions round down.

WEAPON FOCUS [GENERAL]
Same-old, same-old.

GREATER WEAPON FOCUS [GENERAL]
Choose one type of weapon for which you have already selected Weapon Focus. You can also choose unarmed strike, grapple or ray as your weapon for purposes of this feat.

Prerequisites: Proficiency with selected weapon, Weapon Focus with selected weapon, base attack + fighter level must equal 10 or more.

Benefit: You gain a bonus on all attack rolls you make using the selected weapon equal to (base attack + fighter level) divided by ten. This bonus stacks with other bonuses on attack rolls, including the one from Weapon Focus.

Special: You can gain Greater Weapon Focus multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon.

A fighter may select Greater Weapon Focus as one of his fighter bonus feats.

This variant allows any character to qualify for the feats, but not at soon as a fighter. It also introduces a scaling progression for improvement beyond the max +2 for WF and max +4 for WSpec, but particularly so for those who class levels are all or partially fighter.

Thus, at 20th level a fighter could have a total of +5 to hit and +10 to damage, a paladin would enjoy +3 to hit and +5 to damage, while a warrior with ten levels of each would have +4 to hit and +7 to damage. Obviously only fighter levels would allow improvement in epic levels and BAB caps at +20.
