| cloudd90103-10-07, 04:03 PM | Magic, a third edition book, has the Planetar's Clarity skill. I am currently the DM of a 3.5 game and just had a character come back to life from the Celestial Relm by way of his god. I wanted give him the skill Planetar's Clarity out of the book titled MAGIC which is third edition. Can this be done? If so, what do I need to change to make it fit in. http://www.geocities.com/cloud_d_901/Magicv3.jpg |

You need to be a bit clearer. There is NO need to be so harsh. To the OP. I would allow using the spell as is. Is not that hot anyway, considering all the other stuff any cleric could pull at that level. The spell, as is written, does work with 3.5. It list stuff that can be done in 3.5 so he could use it with all of the written advantages. Maybe you could change the "regeneration 5" to "fast healing 5" Regen sounds like a Troll while fast healing has a divine tint about it. |

Second, do you realize that you may not even be answering the OP's question? The OP may quite possibly have been asking about giving a character the abilities listed in the Planetar's Clarity spell as always-on abilities. Which would be what the other poster suggested making (Su), or Supernatural, abilities. This interpretation is partly based on the skill/spell confusion. Or the OP could be asking something completely different. It was worded very vaguely, and I honestly wanted to help the OP, but to form an answer, one must know the true question first. |
| Silverthumb12803-11-07, 01:38 AM | There is NO need to be so harsh. It didn't look harsh to me. There's a large difference between spell & skill, and he was just clarifying in the event that anyone else had trouble figuring that out. There are people new to the game who come here, and any less confusion for them is best. To answer the OP's question, it seems like there's a lot of benefit to the spell. A lot of Exalted spells at that level do a little less and still have drawbacks. I'd lower that duration by at least half, if not, to 1 round/level. |

You need to be a bit clearer. OK sorry, I was thinking skill when I typed it instead of spell. Secondly, I was just wondering if it was ok to use this in 3.5 since it came out of a 3.0 book. Also I had no idea what Su stood for...lol. Anywho, thanks for yall answers. Do you think this would be a good spell for a god to give to a mortal without making him too powerful? |

As an 8th-level spell, Clerics will gain access to Planetar's Clarity at 15th character level. Are your characters at 8th level, or are they at a higher level gaining access to 8th-level spells? |
| allenchan03-12-07, 12:01 AM | Make the duration shorter. That is one of the most common mods from 3.0 to 3., and I'd be inclined to make this 1 min/level as well. |
