Kian 08-25-07, 09:31 PM	A quick question regarding this feat (from Player's Guide to Faerūn). It turns your type to Outsider (Native). Now, one of the traits outsiders get is familiarity with all martial weapons, plus any they're described as wielding. The feat description only mentions one trait (darkvision) being gained, as well as the type change. Would martial weapon proficiency also be gained? As an aside, do aasimars and tiefling also get this (being native outsiders as well)?
runestar 08-25-07, 09:33 PM	By a strict reading of the rules, they would indeed get martial weapon prof (the sage has also said that planetouched do get this prof by virtue of being outsiders). Same for otherworldly (perfect for entrance into eldritch knight). You will find that quite a few DMs will be naturally opposed to this ruling though.:P
Khadmus 08-25-07, 11:36 PM	It might be concluded that the feat entry supercedes the normal outsider rules and that they only gain darkvision.
