Paladin and fighter feats [Archive] - Wizards Community

Old versions of ADD described the paladin as a fighter subclass, newer editions do not do this. So could a paladin take Weapon Specialization, which is reserved for fighters?

The reason certain Feats are reserved for a character with enough Fighter levels is to try and give Fighters something special, considering all they really have is their Feats.
