When you are hit during combat in a round that you are fighting defensively or using the total defense action, you may make a tumble check with a DC set according to your opponent's attack roll total. If you are successful, you take damage from your opponent's hit normally but you may move 10' straight backwards as an immediate action. The 10' movement backwards does not provoke an AoO from the opponent that hit you, but does draw an AoO from anyone threating you. |

Part of me likes this a lot, but a part of me falls back on the Palladium mechanic (I know, bear with me!) calling Roll w/ Punch/Fall/Impact/Explosion. It is simply the ability to take half damage from attacks that do bludgeoning-type damage. Maybe your idea would work best as a Skill Trick. As a feat... meditate on this, I will....:thinks: Okay, enough meditating. As a feat, I'd reduce the damage taken and reduce the movement to a five foot step, providing that it counts as your five foot step for the round. EDIT -----> what if you are fighting with your back to the wall, or otherwise unable to move in that direction? I think the five foot step allowed by the Feat should be in any direction. I mean, if you are tumbling it only makes a bit of sense... at least to me. |
