In addition to using the Perform skill, you can entertain people with sleight of hand, tumbling, tightrope walking, and spells (especially illusions).

I'm wondering if any of those things listed; sleight of hand, tumble, balance, and spells, help in generating more revenue from the perform skill or only look pretty but serve no non-rp purpose (like streamers on bicycle handlebars)

I'd probably just allow them to add circumstance bonuses to a perform check. For illusions, or just magic in general, I could see someone making a psuedo perform check with creative use of spells (probably something similar to the CW rules for entertaining a gladatorial crowd). These would be houserules, but I'm willing to bet a copper that there's some official mechanics for these situtions.

Depending on what sort of performance you are doing, I may allow a synergy bonus if you have at least 5 ranks in one of the above skills.

If you are using spells I might give a small circumstance bonus, but since bards are typically the performers and they all have spells it wouldn't be anything the public had never seen.
