Please explain the The Air Heritage [Heritage] feat? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-18-07, 08:39 PM Yeah, im looking at the feat in the Planar Handbook and it doesnt make any sense to me. Do I gain a +30 feet to my fly speed or not?

What I mean is, is that I wanna play a Silverbrow Human from Dragon Magic, I want to take the feats Dragon Wings with my bonus feat and eventually at 6th lv take Improved Dragon Wings to make my wings strong enough to allow flight. The flight obtained from IDW is 30ft average, so will the Air Heritage feat work for me or not? My dragon ancestory is either gonna be Crystal or Emerald Dragon most likely Emerald and Emerald Dragons have the air subtype and thus make sense for me to have the Air Heritage feat.

If this doesnt work my only other option seems to be Speed of Thought from the EPH (Expanded Psionic Handbook). Which seems to grant a flat out +10ft to all movement modes so long as i stay psionically focused.

Or to take Draconic Aura Swiftness from Dragon Magic after i take Improved Dragon Wing and eventually get faster as I gain levels.

Yes, it does sound odd.

03-19-07, 12:16 PM Technically, you have a fly speed from a feat, not your race, so you wouldn't get the bonus. I would certainly give it to you, though -- you've worked hard enough to get it.
