| Llurion03-07-07, 08:13 PM | Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else. If it has, I can't find it... Anyways, how does power attack work once you get a BAB with multiple attacks? Right now I'm +6/+1. The feat reads "...before making attack rolls for a round, you may choose to subtract a number from all melee attack rolls and add the same number to all melee damage rolls. This number may not exceed your base attack bonus." Can I pick 4 for my power attack, and go -4 to each attack? Can I pick a different number for each of the two attacks? Are they really saying the number can't exceed your highest BAB? Also, the feat states "The penalty on attacks and bonus on damage appy until your next turn." Does that mean any AOO's later made, but before the next round, have to be made with the same power attack you already picked? Thanks for any help / clarifications. |

| Vharuck03-07-07, 08:39 PM | Same number, yup. |
| Llurion03-07-07, 08:45 PM | So, you're saying same number, and that number can go as high as your highest BAB, correct? |
| ShinAkuma203-07-07, 09:55 PM | Your BAB is a single number. The fact that you lose 5 to the attack roll with each iterive attack doesn't change that. You pick a number, and subtract that from your BAB. This penalty is applied to all attacks you make in the round. |
| Kouk03-08-07, 02:50 AM | The limit of what you can subtract from your attack bonus to add to damage is your current BAB. If you have +6/+1, you can take 6 away from your to hit, and you are left with +0/-5 until it is your turn again. Applies to AoOs you make too. If you have a total of +8 to attack from a high strength or something, you are still limited to the 6 from your BAB. |
| Llurion03-08-07, 07:54 AM | Thanks to all of you for your help and clarifications. I did not know that your BAB was just one number, and now I know what an iterative attack is. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks much to all:bow: |
| tarkin03-08-07, 12:09 PM | One more thing. You get no bonus to damage if using a Light weapon, but you can still take a penalty to hit. So if doing TWF, don't Power Attack. |
| Zherog03-08-07, 01:08 PM | You get no bonus to damage if using a Light weapon, but you can still take a penalty to hit. Unless the light weapon is an unarmed strike. ;) |
