| Feian04-29-07, 04:47 PM | Does the bonus provided by the Divine shield feat stack with the enchantment bonus of the shield? Isn't a bit overpowered gaining 6-10 AC points with a single standard action which doesn't cause any AOO and cannot be interrupted? |
| Kouk04-29-07, 05:22 PM | To gain 6-10 points of Armor Bonus to your shield would require you to have a Charisma of 22-30 or so. It gives a bonus based on your charisma Modifier, which is +1 for every 2 points your charisma is over 10. |
| Feian05-01-07, 07:27 AM | I know that, but speaking about paladins it isn't so impossible to have such a charisma score.;) My question is:does this bonus stack with the enchantment bonus provided by a magic shield? |
| runestar05-01-07, 07:46 AM | It should overlap, IIRC. A +5 heavy shield has a +7 shield bonus. There is no distinction between enhancement and nameless shield bonus, they are all one shield bonus. Divine shield grants your cha mod to shield bonus. They are both of the same type, and would thus not stack. |
| Feian05-01-07, 08:09 AM | Are you sure? Because if you look on the Divine feats table the bonus it's named "a sacred bonus".i know that the sacred bonus to AC provided by the vow of poverty feat doesn't stack with the normal AC bonus but can you show or tell me where i can find a rule which states that normal AC bonus and sacred ac bonus doesn't stack? It's important cause a friend of mine is using a paladin/cleric/hospitaler and i think it's really to much to let him stacks even these bonuses:D Another question:What's the meaning of "IIRC"? English isn't my mother language and i'm not so fond in internet language either:cool: |
| runestar05-01-07, 08:24 AM | IIRC = if I recall correctly. Is that what the table says? I was under the impression it said shield bonus under the feat entry. If it is sacred AC bonus, then it should stack. |
| Feian05-01-07, 08:28 AM | ok,i'll check later. thx friend |
| StevenO05-01-07, 01:52 PM | The feat adds a Sacred Bonus to your shield thus stacking with any enhancement bonuses. |
| runestar05-01-07, 09:37 PM | Fair enough. My mistake then.:embarrass |
| Sciron05-02-07, 08:32 AM | The feat gets even crazier when you combo it with shield ward which allows you to apply your shield bonus to your touch AC, and on check or rolls to resist bull rush, disarm, grapple, overrun, or trip attempts made against you. |
