If you have an PC/NPC pinned
I know you can only use only natural or unarmed attacks.
But can you still use for exaplme, a spiked Gauntlet?

Also IF you are say a fighter and you have a level of monk, does the damage from the spiked gauntlet stack with the unarmed strike, or does one discount the other?

Thanks

You can use light weapons, which a spiked gauntlet is, once you have started and are officially "grappling".

However, under the section about pinning people, it says you cannot draw or use a weapon.

I think it would be perfectly reasonable to allow something like a bite attack, or a tail sting, but any appendages needed to hold an opponent aren't going to be making attacks while you're pinning someone.

Ah you're right. You can still use their own weapons against them even though you can't use your own though.
Pinning an opponent also seems like you would not be able to use natural weapons, because they are still weapons, you could only make a Grapple check to "choke" or otherwise do unarmed damage.

Although spiked gauntlets are of no use when pinning an opponent, ordinary gauntlets are, so you can at least deal lethal damage.
Spiked armor is another option for damaging a pinned opponent, and you can always add another d12 of damage with the Earth's Embrace feat, even if you are low on attacks.

Personally, I found a bit disappointing that gauntlets are considered unarmed strikes rather than light weapons, as I had this nice idea of slapping my opponent silly with his OWN gauntlets (they are part of most mail and plate armor in any case) which might take a little longer, but certainly be more fun. :D
Even more fun if my opponent was a monk (although he would probably not be wearing gauntlets) as he, technically, would deal himself more damage by his own hands, than I could do with my normal unarmed strikes.
