| Gorrath07-29-07, 04:15 PM | One of the bonus given by the Vow of Poverty feat is: "At 4th level, an ascetic gains a +1 enhancement bonus on all his attack and damage rolls. In effect, any weapon the character wields becomes a +1 magic weapon, and can overcome the damage reduction of a creature as though it were a magic weapon. Does the natural weapon of a shifted druid qualify for this ability? It says the ascetic gains the bonus on all his attack and damage rolls so it seems it would work, but then it says "in effect" that any weapon the character wields is considered a magic weapon. So is natural weapons considered as "wielded weapons" ?? Thanks! |
| Xaer07-29-07, 04:27 PM | Yes, a natural attack would benefit. |
| Kouk07-29-07, 07:02 PM | Yes, a natural attack would benefit. I agree. |
| runestar07-29-07, 11:20 PM | Sure, if you could wield a natural weapon with your hands somehow.;) |
| Ghostwheel07-30-07, 01:44 AM | Sure, if you could wield a natural weapon with your hands somehow.;) Not a good answer. :ahem: |

| Gorrath07-30-07, 09:16 PM | Ok thanks for all the answers! |

It says: "You may carry and use ordinary (neither magic nor masterwork) simple weapons, usually just a quarterstaff that serves as a walking stick. You may wear simple clothes (usually just a homespun robe, possibly also including a hat and sandals), with no magical properties." I was wondering if they can wear clothes another player would give to them for a while. For example, if they want to sneak in some place wearing a disguise, could the VoP player borrow the clothes from someone else to disguise himself? It says they can't borrow magic items for even a single round, but it doesn't say anything about borrowed simple items. I would say they can't because it would give too much room to borrow all kind of stuff, the VoP player can't have, when he needs them. Thanks |

Thanks It says you are allowed clothes so you can borrow clothes. |
| Gorrath08-13-07, 09:16 PM | It says you are allowed clothes so you can borrow clothes. Ok so then you could borrow some nobles outfit and look like a wealthy guy just because you don't own them. It's just stupid if it works like this, why could they not borrow magic items if they can borrow clothes? Just to balance the feat because you gain tons of bonus? if you make a vow of poverty that makes you unwilling to use any magical stuff, I think you would also not want to wear anything else than your humble clothes. If you roleplay this feat, the limitations is not something you can't do, it's something you don't want to do! Well...maybe I'm just too extremist... |
