| Hihiuloa02-22-07, 02:57 PM | I would appreciate it if any/all of you could point me toward the books that basically hold the "I hit enemy/you, enemy/you get moved/fly/shoved/thrown/hurled/knocked back X feet from me" type of feats (names of feat would be nice). Enemy knocked down feats are good too. Visualize the large/huge Sauron, from the Lord of the Rings movie, cutting a swath through the forces of good, throwing them back with each swing of his weapon. ;) Game book restrictions so only WotC material will qualify, and hopefully it's 3.5. No campaign restrictions though. Thank you. H |
| CantripN02-22-07, 03:55 PM | That's as close as it gets: Awesome Blow [General, Fighter] Prerequisites Str 25, Power Attack, Improved Bull Rush, size Large or larger. Benefit As a standard action, the creature may choose to subtract 4 from its melee attack roll and deliver an awesome blow. If the creature hits a corporeal opponent smaller than itself with an awesome blow, its opponent must succeed on a Reflex save (DC = damage dealt) or be knocked flying 10 feet in a direction of the attacking creature’s choice and fall prone. The attacking creature can only push the opponent in a straight line, and the opponent can’t move closer to the attacking creature than the square it started in. If an obstacle prevents the completion of the opponent’s move, the opponent and the obstacle each take 1d6 points of damage, and the opponent stops in the space adjacent to the obstacle. |
| pres_man02-22-07, 05:42 PM | Here is one that might be useful: KNOCK-DOWN [GENERAL] Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +2, Improved Trip, Str 15. Benefit: Whenever you deal 10 or more points of damage to your opponent in melee, you make a trip attack as a free action against the same target. You can find it on the SRD under Divine abilities and feats. Though listed there, it is not required that you be a deity or anything, it is just something that some deities have. |
| Fabius Maximus02-22-07, 06:10 PM | There is a feat called Knockback. It's in races of Stone, but only large or larger creatures can use it. And it doesn't accomplish what you want, sadly. I'm searching for a feat like that myself. |
| Ogre4Hire02-22-07, 11:33 PM | The Colossus Strike Maneuver in ToB deals damage and sends the target flying, as well. |
| Hihiuloa02-23-07, 04:41 PM | All, Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. Fabius, do you know if a goliath (RoS? - don't own book) would meet the requirements for that feat "Knockback"? I am wanting to build a character (fighter-type) that throws around his enemies when he hits them. Huge damage is not important just the ability to knock around the foes and see the look on their faces when they roll over to stand back up but from 5, 10 or 15 ft away. :) I feel that has a lot of flavor and would make for some great gaming sessions. Looking forward to any more input you and other board members have to share. H |
| pres_man02-23-07, 04:55 PM | Yes, powerful build does give you access to the feat, I believe it says it directly in the text of the feat. |
| Fabius Maximus02-23-07, 05:24 PM | Fabius, do you know if a goliath (RoS? - don't own book) would meet the requirements for that feat "Knockback"? As pres_man wrote, yes. But that feat is effectivly a Bull Rush with a Trip. That means you move with the target. I'd like a feat with that you can kick/shove the target 5 ft. backwards without moving with it, so that the target is in range of a reach weapon. |

Unlike standard bull rush attempts, knockback attempts don't provoke attacks of opportunity, and you don't move with the enemy you knock backward. ... |
| Hihiuloa02-25-07, 03:37 AM | All, Thanks for the info. I am still looking for more feats along this line. I'll let you all know if I find more. Here is one that might be useful: <snip> You can find it on the SRD under Divine abilities and feats. Though listed there, it is not required that you be a deity or anything, it is just something that some deities have. Pres_man, you sure being a deity is not a prereq for taking this feat? Just want to make sure. H |
| pres_man02-25-07, 09:18 AM | Pres_man, you sure being a deity is not a prereq for taking this feat? Just want to make sure. H Well the feat first appeared in Sword and Fist, also if you look at the prerequisites there is nothing about deities. In the Deities and Demigods book it explains that these feats were originally designed for PCs (that is why you only need a +2 BAB something all deities have, for example). |
| TheCobra02-25-07, 01:20 PM | There's Driving Attack from the PHBII, though it technically only lets you move an opponent 5 feet (it was obviously supposed to allow more movement). Still, that's something. |
| Fabius Maximus02-25-07, 01:39 PM | Huh? Eh, my bad. |
| Hihiuloa03-02-07, 04:26 AM | Pres_Man, thanks for the reply and clarification. I've added that feat to my list. I'm barely started my "knock you around" feat research but it is going. More to come on my findings later. I'll post all that are of note when I am done - for others to use and not have to search for. If you come up with any more, or come across any more, post them. Again, thanks everyone. H |
| Hihiuloa04-23-08, 09:32 PM | Thanks Everyone, I've have not really found much more than all of you and I have remarked upon so far. I have not had much opportunity though either. If I find more, and this thread is still around, I will post the info I find. My access to these forums is suspect and disjunct as work is keeping me away. Thanks again to all for your thoughts and posts they are much appreciated. :) H |
| Tordak04-23-08, 09:44 PM | There's Driving Attack from the PHBII, though it technically only lets you move an opponent 5 feet (it was obviously supposed to allow more movement). Still, that's something. Why is it only 5 feet? The way I read it, you cannot move with the opponent, but it seems like you can force him to move further back. |
| ToastedAmphibian04-23-08, 10:21 PM | Go with knockback. It is definetly worth it and fits very well with a goliath. It was, after all, designed specifically for them. Take power atatck, knockback, then improved bull rush. Assuming you have atleast a 16 in str before racial adjustments, you will have a minimum of +13 on the opposed strength check. +5 str (16+4=20) +4 Size (Powerfull Build) +4 Improved Bull Rush Then your going to want to take shocktrooper (I think, might be combat brute, i always get the two confused) It will let you steer anyone you bull rush. Meaning you dont just knock them backwards, you know them backwards and in whatever other direction you like. I belive the feat is in complete warrior. |
| servingwench04-24-08, 06:34 AM | theres a feat in SS called "large and in charge", that sounds like a possiblity, but im not sure, been a while since i read that. |
| EjoThims04-24-08, 08:18 AM | There's a 3/day weapon enchant in DMG2 that allows this type of manuever as well. Brutal Surge I think it's called. |
| Rebel728404-24-08, 08:24 AM | There is also "fling ally" and "fling enemy" in races of stone. Both require rock throwing as a prereq though. |
