| Fanged Fremont07-14-07, 02:31 AM | First I'd like to apologize if this already been answered, I tried looking in all the usual places but couldn't everything I wanted. 1.) First question. How far can you push a person back using the Knockback feat from Races of Stone? I found a few threads discussing the matter, and one had a person who contacted customer support who replied that there is no limit to how far you can push a person back. I was wondering if there was any more info on this topic, as customer support has made some mistakes in the past. 2.) Regardless of the max distance, can knockback be used with the dungeon crasher fighter variant from Dungeonscape? The ability fluff says you're dealing damage by smashing your weight against the person, but I'd imagine crushing a person against a wall with a weapon would do some extra damage too. 3.) When you use shock trooper's domino rush, do both of them stay in the same square? 4.) Aren't there penalties for being in the same square as someone, and if so where can I find them? 5.) Can you bull rush prone targets? 6.) Can you continue bull rushing multiple targets using shock troopers domino rush? Thanks for your answers. |

| Hammersoul07-17-07, 05:00 AM | 1.) There is nothing in the rules to indicate that there is a limit to bullrushing distance. To knockback someone a real good distance your check must be real high compared to the defender's. And I see no problem with a extremely strong/big creature pushing/throwing a small/weak one a good number of feet. Look at the Knockback feat as a more linear approach to the Awesome Blow feat (monster manual). 2.) I see no problem with this, either. From a fluff/commonsense standpoint, using you huge club as a baseball bat to smash the poor foe into the wall must hurt him a lot. From a rules balance standpoint, not moving with the foe when you bullrush has either advantages and drawbacks and doing damage combined with a bullrush is comparable to the free attack of the improved trip feat. 3.) When you are forced into a nonhelpless foe's square you stop your movement and return to the last legal square. So the opponent you pushed ends in the previous square needed to reach the second foe's square and the other foe stands or falls in its square. 4.) Normally you cannot go through a square occupied by a nonhelpless foe unless you try to tumble past/over/under him. And you generally can't end your movement in a nonhelpless foe's square unless grappling. Movement and Position are covered in pages 147 to 149 of the Player's Handbook 5.) There's nothing in the rules to impede this but I as a DM would hamper/penalize such attempts. 6.) I'm not sure I understand this question, but by intuition: Domino Rush doesn't provoke further bullrush effects. It provokes free trip attempts instead. |
