| runestar05-18-07, 07:22 AM | No, power crit does not improve your threat range at all. It benefit is that when you score a threat, and must roll again to see if you actually hit, you get +4 bonus on this secondary roll.:) |

| runestar05-18-07, 08:23 AM | Okay, say you have a fighter with weapon focus, improved crit and power crit for scimitar. Your scimitar has a threat range of 15-20. Assume your foe's AC is such that a roll of 15 or higher is sufficient to hit it. Thus, if you roll a anywhere between 15 to 20, you normally roll again to see if you actually crit. If you missed on the 2nd die roll, you are treated as just having scored a normal hit. But if you hit with the 2nd die roll, then you have scored a crit, and deal double damage (actually, you just roll damage die twice). This is where power crit comes in. By adding +4 to the 2nd die roll, it increases your chances of hitting your foe, and thus the chances of your threat being confirmed and a crit occurring.:) |
