I read the rules in the PHB for multiclassing and skills, but I am still a bit confused. If I have one level in Beguiler and then take a couple of levels in wizard, are the Beguiler skills treated as class skills from then on? I know its a dumb question, but the PHB was worded weird. Thanks.

The Beguiler skills are class skills, and thus have a maximum rank of (Total Character Level +3). However, when you spend skill points, you spend them as the class you just levelled in, so you would have to pay 2 skill points per rank for, say, Move Silently if you levelled up in Wizard.

In so far as maximum ranks are concerned, the Beguiler skills are treated as class skills. However, for buying ranks, you go by whatever class you've just raised. So, if you raise a level in wizard, but want to spend skill points on a Beguiler class skill (which is not also a wizard class skill), you have to buy the ranks at two for one.

Does that clear it up?

EDIT: damn, beaten to the punch...
