| Raeft12-13-07, 08:03 PM | Hi! Just a question. Do two-weapon fighting feats reduce the penalty for dual-wielding non-thrown ranged weapons such as all types of crossbows or, if we were using them, flintlock/laser pistols? That is, do these feats (Two Weapon Fighting, Improved Two Weapon Fighting, Greater, etc.) apply to ranged weapons? If not, where is the errata or faq which is authoritative and states this if you could be so kind? I've had a devil of a time finding it. And, more tricky and not so quick, if the penalties for these weapons AREN'T reduced by these feats and the extra attacks not gained... why not? Is there some game balance issue anyone can see? Appreciating any replies. Thank you. |

Look in the RC on page 148 for figuring how to treat ranged weapons weight catagory. |

However, you can shoot, but not load, a light crossbow with one hand at a -2 penalty on attack rolls. You can shoot a light crossbow with each hand, but you take a penalty on attack rolls as if attacking with two light weapons. This penalty is cumulative with the penalty for one-handed firing. Since the TWF feat helps when using two light weapons, it helps with a light crossbow too. The firearms weapons don't specifically say, so it would be up to a DM to decide how they work. I would treat any kind of pistol as a light weapon for TWF purposes. |

First round he'd fire 5 shots, one from one xbow and 4 from another. On his next round and each following round he would fire the one remaining bolt from the now empty xbow, draw another xbow, and fire 4 shots from the xbow that had previously only fired one shot. Something like that, I had it all figured out awhile ago, but whatever. It allowed him to fire around 5 bolts a round for like 6 rounds. |
