At some point I remember reading a class ability or a feat that allowed you to make ranged AoO under something like the following mechanic:

If weilding a ranged weapon, anytime an ally within 30ft makes an AoO you may also make a ranged attack against the same enemy. All such attacks count against your total number of AoO for the round.

I know I have read such an ability though there is a slim chance that it was in a custom prestige class or custom list of feats or some other similar thing.

At this time I really don't care for a discussion on the merits or lack thereof of the ability just simply whether it exists.

The ability exists in a WoTC published archery Prestige class.

I remember reading it, but not which one.

Maybe Order of the Bow?

There is a feat called Ranged Threat which does something like that. It was in a Dragon magazine (can't remember which one - the issue with the archery feats). It was limited to one per round, regardless of the number of AoO the character has.

That feat was published in issue 350, page 90

It was limited in many ways:

1. 15 ft distance.

2. It had lots of pre-reqs, including Combat Reflexes

3. It counted as ALL remaining AoO's for that round.

Thanks for the replies, Dragon Magazine is not allowed in the event I'm participating in but if anyone knows which Prestige class the ability is in that information would be useful. If I get the chance I'll start by looking at Order of the Bow.

There is also the Arrow mind Spell. Allows you to use a ranged weapon in melee you get AoO's you don't provoke ect... pretty much uber for any archer. 1st level and it's a ranger and wizard/sorcerer spell but can't remeber if it was from RoW or CompArc.
