Hello to everyone,

Is there any other way, except the Dead Eye Feat (Dragon Compendium I p.95) to add a character's Dex mod to damage rolls?

I am about to play a Ftr/Rg/Assn Sniper in Luskan and I need all the edge I can have...:P

Thanks in advance!

Crossbow Sniper (CAdv or PHB2 I don't remember which) gives 1/2 DEX to crossbow damage under certain conditions.

shadow blade from tome of battle gives dex to damage whilst in a shadow hand stance (which would seem to thematically fit the character), but only for a handful of weapons (dagger, shortsword, sai, siangham, unarmed strike, and spiked chain), none of which are ranged. i could see a dm being lenient though and adding shortbow to the list (since it's commonly used by rogues; longbow is pushing it)

Dagger is ranged. So is a sai and Siangham, and Unarmed Strike if you cast Blood Wind.

siangham doesn't have a ranged increment.
yeah, daggers and zai do, but they're close up thrown weapons, rather than projectile weapons that would fit a 'sniper' characterI am about to play a Ftr/Rg/Assn Sniper in Luskan and I need all the edge I can have...

From the FAQ stickyed on the top of this board:

If you are searching for something to substitute x with y this (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=320889) is the thread with the all the answers you are searching for.

Yeah, I knew one of those was wrong. Didn't feel like looking it up though (I was in a rush).

Thrown weapons are ranged weapons, are they not? Also, I have seen sniper builds that use daggers. Mainly they are halflings. Halfling rogues with the substitution levels. And that one PrC from RotW. And two levels of Swordsage for Assassin's Stance and Shadow Blade. You know, I wan't to play that now.

If I were in your shoes I would petition the DM for a new feat/chain that does just that. Allowing sneak attacks from more than 30ft. Dex to damage, and you probably want something to help you rehide after a sniper shot.

There are a couple ways to increase your precision damage range. OotBI, I think Deepwood Sniper and Peerless Archer, the Crossbow Sniper feat, and that one feat for skirmish.

Something to help rehide after sniping: Able Sniper.

A good sniping class: Scout, with the sniper variant. Gets sniping damage from any range greater than 30 ft. Find the variant in Crystal Keep.
