| Ace_of_time08-21-07, 06:41 PM | Greater Invisibility. Don't think you can flank ranged though. but they will be FF. |
| jaelis08-21-07, 06:53 PM | I'm not sure ranged attacks can benefit from flanking anyway, so flat footed is really what you want. You can: Attack from hiding using the sniping rules. There's an alternative ranger class feature in the PHBII that makes opponents the ranger hits either count as flat-footed or flanked, I forget which. There's a few spells that make the target flat-footed. You might also look at the Telling Blow feat... it lets you do SA damage on a critical hit. |
| Xeres08-21-07, 07:09 PM | in what book do I find the sniping rules, are they in the phb?? |
| Ace_of_time08-22-07, 02:44 AM | Does anyone remember the ruling on Far shot and the 30' rule on sneak attack. |
| tarkin08-22-07, 10:34 AM | Far shot does NOT increase the 30ft sneak attack range. Far shot increases the range of your WEAPON by a percentage. The 30ft limit for sneak attack is a set limit irregardless of weapon. It has more to do with something entirely different from the weapon - your ability to see clearly enough to find and target the specific vital parts, not the innacuracy of the particular weapon. |
| Hsien08-22-07, 11:02 AM | If your weapon has a good threat range, Telling Blow feat. PHII I think. Allows you to add your sneak damage when you critical...does not stack if you are already have sneak damage activated though. |
| jaelis08-22-07, 11:03 AM | in what book do I find the sniping rules, are they in the phb?? Yes, under the Hide skill. |
| Kaladon777908-22-07, 11:07 AM | You CAN NOT flank with a ranged weapon. But you can make a sneak attack with one as long as its within 30ft. Opponent must either be flat footed or no dexterity applied. So either be really quick on the initiative, have a ring of invisibility or make a Hide check to hide in plain sight. Sniping If you’ve already successfully hidden at least 10 feet from your target, you can make one ranged attack, then immediately hide again. You take a -20 penalty on your Hide check to conceal yourself after the shot. |
| kimura12108-22-07, 11:43 AM | you can ranged flank with the whipserknife prc out to 10 ft with a dagger i believe. its in races of the wild. they also have an ability that will stun an enemy .... perfect prc for a dual dagger weilding, throwing sneak attack beast.... |
