| Jay_Ibero_91102-25-08, 05:17 PM | Ok, lets say i have the following feats Rapid Shot - extra attack if I take a full round action at -2 penalty Improved Rapid Shot - extra attack w/o -2 penalty Manyshot - shoot 2 arrows at -4 penalty as target Greater Manyshot - shoot 2 arrows at -4 penalty to one target or multiple targets, precise damage can be applied to both arrows thats the basic idea of those feats Anyway, can I use Rapid Shot to use Manyshot twice (which would be at a -4 penalty for both rolls)? Also, If i have a rogue level, and I can sneak attack, and assume all hit, would that potentially be 4 arrows at 1 target with 1d6 added sneak attack damage to each arrow? So, basically my question is, can I use rapid shot and manyshot together? Using rapid shot requires a full attack action. Using greater many shot requires a standard action. No. |
| BugHunter02-25-08, 07:16 PM | No, rapid shot is a full round action and many shot is a standard action. This question has been asked in many threads and in the FAQ. |
| Thespianus05-12-08, 12:18 PM | I'm hijacking this thread, since I have too bad search-jutsu to find the answer: There is a feat in Complete Warrior called "Improved Rapid Shot". This feat has "Manyshot" as a prerequisite, but does this mean that a build focused on thrown weapons gets screwed? I mean, "Manyshot" is useless for a dude throwing weapons, right? However, "Improved Rapid Shot" seems fairly decent for such a build. So.. Do I have to waste a feat on Manyshot to get to Improved Rapid Shot, or is there some kind of "standardized" houserule for this situation? |

| dman1123505-23-08, 04:24 PM | Well, check the Errata for CW. It doesn't make sense for IRS to have MS as a prereq, though I will advise staying away from that feat. A +2 bonus on attack rolls is nothing compared to some other feats. |

A +2 bonus on attack rolls is nothing compared to some other feats. The errata for CW doesn't mention "Improved Rapid Shot", as far as I can tell, at least not the one found at: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/CompleteWarrior_Errata08022005.zip Maybe you're thinking of Improved Power Attack, which is mentioned in the errata? But maybe you are right, a +2 toHit might not be worth it... |
| dman1123505-23-08, 06:28 PM | I didn't check the Errata. I figured that you were a big boy now and could check it yourself, which you did. There are better feats out there, but without knowing your build or play style I can't help you. |
| Thespianus05-24-08, 01:39 AM | I didn't check the Errata. I figured that you were a big boy now and could check it yourself, which you did. ;) I managed aaaall by myself. ;) I'm glad we agree on that Manyshot doesn't make any sense. There are better feats out there, but without knowing your build or play style I can't help you. Well, I'm really in search of both. :) I just recently picked up D&D 3.5 after about 10 years of no roleplaying at all, so I'm trying to familiarize myself with the D&D system and I really like it all so far. But there's so much stuff out there and I haven't really gotten around to thinking properly. I'll get there, eventually :) Thanks! |
