| Oathwin Oakheart07-17-07, 12:09 AM | Hello - Question. . . I have a friend playing a 6th level fighter in my Forgotten Realms campaign. The character has the feats rapid shot and many shot. Can this character shoot a total of 6 arrows with his two attacks? +4 (rapid shot) x2 arrows, then +4 (1st attack) x2 arrows, then -1 (2nd attack) x2 arrows. This seems a bit excessive. . . Thanks  |

| Inigo Carmine07-17-07, 01:26 AM | Manyshot cannot be used during a full attack action since it is a standard action (and rapid shot requires you to use the full attack action). Manyshot does not actually increase the number of arrows you can fire in a round. What it *does* do is allow you to shoot multiple arrows in situations you are normally unable to do (with a penalty to attack and certain restrictions of course). It is useful: - After drawing your bow (assuming no quickdraw) - After (or before) moving - During a suprise round - Used as a readied action (<-- This is when I use it the most, usually for disrupting spellcasters) |
| strenoth07-17-07, 01:56 AM | to be a bit more specific. Rapid shot is an optional modification of a ranged full-round attack action. manyshot is a specific standard action, thus making it NOT a full-round attack action. therefore, you can not use the modifier Rapid Shot on the action Manyshot |
