reactionary fighting
(concept) a fighter so adept at predicting and reacting to opponents he/she can counter almost any maneuver….(based off of Mohamed Ali’s “catch and throw” boxing style and tai chi)
prereqs..... dex16, combat reflexes
at the beginning of your turn you may choose to fight reactionary. You may not attack this turn. However for the rest of the round when you are attacked you roll a reflex save (dc the attack roll you just took if higher than your AC) if you fail you are hit normally. if you succeed you may either take half damage and take an attack of opportunity or you may take no damage but take no attack of opportunity..... you may take as many reflex saves as you take attacks but only as many attacks of opportunity as you have attacks of opportunity for the round. once out of attacks of opportunity you can only avoid the damage with a successful saving throw but must declare whether to continue or discontinue this at the beginning of your next turn

Things like this already exist. Look at Karmic Strike (Complete Warrior), Robilar's Gambit (PHBII), and a few others(I think there is at least one more). Robilar's Gambit, while high level, is good since you don't have to attack with it and can use defensive fighting (but not total defense) to counter the reduction to AC. Its against "the spirit" of the feat but rules legal. Its possible to make a total reactive fighter that can still make a some attacks in the round. If you still need more, I would make your feats build on these existing ones rather than be stand alone rules.

However the concept is good. It seems a bit like 3.0 missile catch was.
