| JadawinParr03-07-07, 12:06 AM | I seem to remember reading something (in one of the dozen or so rule books) about how to adjudicate a character trying to remove a poison or acid gland from a monster. Seems like it might have been a heal check. Does anyone happen to know where this rule might be found? Or at least what the rule might be? Thank you for any help you can offer. Like all dragons they have an additional organ merged with their heart which produces elemental energy so removing it would likely be fatal. As for rules maybe a heal check with DC = Monster HD. Reduce the DC by 10 if the monster is dead (or damage to it is not a concern). Having the appropriate knowledge skill should give you a bonus to this roll (Mybe 5 ranks give you +5). Miss the DC by 5 or more then the organ you want to extract gets damaged and is unsueable. Otherwise you can try again. |

| tarkin03-07-07, 05:08 PM | The article was "Cutting Up the Dragon" Issue 332. Among other things I talked about taking the dragons "Fundamentum" (which supplies the dragon breath) and creating a Fundamentum Flask, out of it. To make the item you needed the feat DragonCrafter To harvest the item, was a survival check. |
| JadawinParr03-07-07, 07:29 PM | OK, thanks. I have another question then. In looking through the Draconomicon, I saw a magic item which required dragon's blood. Is there any place that has the volume of dragon's blood obtainable from a particular sized dragon? The item in question called for a gallon, but how many gallons of blood would a Medium or Large dragon have? |
