In Ride-By Attack's description it says that you don't provoke an AoO from the opponent you're charging. Does it mean that you don't provoke any AoO's from moving out of any of his squares? |
| R4za09-09-07, 07:02 AM | Yes, that seems to be the intention, since it is something a few of the similar feats do and no other part of charging provokes AoO by default. |
| EjoThims09-09-07, 07:21 AM | Most charges still provoke an AoO from the target if the target has a weapon with a longer reach. However, the wording of ride-by-attack stopping AoOs while leaving after the charge would also suggest that you don't provoke before it either, regardless of the target's reach. |

Benefit When you are mounted and use the charge action, you may move and attack as if with a standard charge and then move again (continuing the straight line of the charge). Your total movement for the round can’t exceed double your mounted speed. You and your mount do not provoke an attack of opportunity from the opponent that you attack. Special A fighter may select Ride-By Attack as one of his fighter bonus feats. The feat is pretty clear. No AoO, so you ride in and out against without AoOs from your charge target (others may still get AoOs). |
